If you stay on 5.x and the fix comes for just 6.x and not 5.x... then you can just use a game to update for 6.x

Easy, you don't enter it. Most of this is not covered yet in detail or not yet implemented so really its best to just be patient and wait for things such as this to be tested.

All of these updating questions are getting annoying to be honest no offense, as Rydian said just stop updating and just wait.

The reason that DS games are limited to WEP is that the wireless functionality is handled by their ARM7 binary, not the DS itself.

I've just read it was because certain carts (ie Black 2, White 2) are DSi carts, while others are "DS" ones. And the games made on DSi carts allow WEP connections. In fact I've read that all over the place, but yeah. Thanks!

Firmware 4.5 was like AGES ago. Gateway NEVER said anything about being in firmware 4.5 until like a few weeks back.

How many "We will ship this week" they have said? IDK you but when I see a video or a Review from someone other than Gateway then I'll call it legit.

I have not done any actions and window with update appears everytime I switch on 3DS.

thats normal it insists due to the fact that updates show support from Nintendo. Updates might include bug fixes, or new features that become vital for some games. Though there has not been one ( yet), one cool update that people liked was the ability to do save backups from downloaded eshop downloaded games

Now what is all that bullshit about firmware 5.x? Since the announcement of this card I disabled WiFi and kept my firmware on the current one (5.1) because it would work on that. Then they said it only works on 4.5.

Now someone said they are not even looking for a way to make it work on 5.x and go straight for 6? That could take like forever.....

If it wasn't so selfish, I would hope the whole card is a hoax. Sorry guys.

I am just back from Thailand and sadly there is not even the shadow of the gateway there yet.
They all say...it's comming but nothing in the hands and no dates.
