Hacking Crediar to release newer version of QuadForce...

yes, you can set either in global or in individual.
The global settings having more options available, as game setting hide some depending on the detected DM version.
That's why I suggested to first reset everything in the global settings, to be sure hidden settings are correctly set to OFF.

There you are gone a day and boom, quadforce 3.0 comes round the corner. I did not play around with it yet since I desperately try to get dios mios working under neek2o so I can install quadforce to real nand. Where I live there are no arcade halls around and I always dreamt about being able to play the Mario Kart GP titles, so huge thanks to Crediar and everyone who donated to make this possible (if I didn't were short on money, I would have given something, too. Maybe next time.)

What I don't understand is that quadforce 0.1 is running fine under uneek2o, but dios mios always shuts the console down when used from neek2o, although both diosmios.bin and the 00000008.app file are present along with a clean MIOS (and also a clean BC before installing quadforce).

Or can anybody tell me if compatibility between quadforce and sneek/uneek/uneek2o in case of speed regarding the Mario Kart GP titles improved compared to quadforce 0.1? Because I remember using quadforce 0.1 via uneek2o and the gameplay of the MKGP titles was really slow.

DML booter supports custom titles, you can easily add a line ID6=Your new title to titles.txt file (in device root or dm-booter folder) I don'r remember exactly the file location and I'm away from the Wii now, but some trial and error and this should do the trick for u :)

No need to wait until the next version, you could use the cheat feature to turn back on the announcer in MKAGP2. Unzip the attached fille, then put the attached gct file (GM2E02.gct) into the /games/GM2E02 folder, and attached code handler file (kenobigc.bin) in the /sneek folder.

Hope this helps.

Quite a late response, but is there any chance you'd be interested in finding a code to disable the menu timers so things like the card data can be viewed at leisure? I had a look at it, but I wasn't able to come up with a working hack. If it's any help to you, this was as far as I got:

The halfword at 806D147E controls whether or not the timer is displayed (one byte for the numbers themselves, one for the circle spinning around them; set both to FF to kill it entirely. It's still running in the background, but it won't appear on screen. The next byte (806D147E) corresponds to the current second on the timer. Locking it does nothing, so it's no solution, but perhaps you'll have better luck tracing the value's origins back than I did.

i dont know if that problem is caused by uneek2o.. i never did something with it or emu nand..
the slow gameplay might be caused by small cluster size of your sd card. i recommand you formatting it to FAT32 or FAT with 32 or 64 kbyte cluster.

Thanks for the tip, will try that out. Would save me the trouble of getting dios mios to run from emu nand.

Ah, thanks for the explanations, there's very little information about either game so it was really hard to tell what kind of games they were. I guess that just leaves Virtua Striker as the only game of interest to be supported.


well for the record, there was also a japanese baseball game called "Gekitou Pro Yakyu" but it was jap only and later released on gamecube(jap only)

and with virtuastriker, there was only virtuastriker2002(virtuastriker3) which was also released on gamecube(all regions i believe). and then virtuastriker4 and virtuastriker4-2006edition, both which have been dumped and NEVER ported to any console... I'm really hoping vs4 or vs4-2k6 or both can be added to quadforce...

Perhaps 8BitWaluigi can ask crediar about the possibility of virtuastriker4 being added to quadforce. I'd be willing to donate some euros torwards that.

Something tells me this is my issue right there ^^; I will have to check again and get back to you, would it be okay if I set everything off but padhook in this game in particular instead?

Edit: Yep that did it, I just tried out setting DML Video mode to Auto for this game in the settings and it fixed my problem, also tried it with Phantasy Star Online and it works too so I can now play all games from USB Loader GX, thanks Cyan :bow:

@funnyguy77 I tried changing the game title with "Wii ISO Title Renamer" now the iso says "F-Zero AX" but in DML Booter it still says "virtuastriker2002" what am I doing wrong? Also not to be rude and I apologize in advance but I have to agree with Abdallah not everyone is capable to compile stuff or use hex and cmd stuff :sad:

Ok, so i'm a bit late to the QuadForce 3 Party, but I managed to get it and try it out.
CARD Support is AMAZING. Major props to Crediar, once again!

Other minor thoughs for future versions of QF or anyone else who feels like figuring them out.
1. The Name Entry in Mario Kart Arcade GP (1) is Impossible, just try it.

2. Game gets stuck if you choose not to continue in MKAGP2 and MKAGP1. I suppose this could be remedied by having a button combo to "Remove the Card" Maybe R+Z+X+B or something else hard to do accidentally.

3. There is no way to play in "No Card" mode from the previous QF in MKAGP2. Might sound dumb, but I'd like some way to play in "No-Card" mode so my family members can play without effecting my savefile at all.

4. We could REALLY use a Patch/Ocarina to disable menu timers in all 3 games.

Also, the quadforce guide SHOULD be updated for QuadForce SOMETIME tommorow. (As long as I can manage to get on the computer, that is.)

@8bitwaluigi: Could you ask crediar if we will we be able to do the GCN Memory Card related stuff in AX? (unlocking parts for GX mostly)

I think it'd be cool to use QF to unlock stuff for GX using AX. Or, "Doing it Legit" as some might say.

Not really, worked fine to me, created a new file and named it "SONIC" and worked just fine, you need to tap the A button though!

It's a little annoying I hear ya, but personally I don't see the big problem here, you can easily back up your "SAVE" folder and start a new one, not saying an option to disable card support is a bad concept just it has to be done in a way that's user friendly.

Agreed... Also while we're at it maybe an emulated pause button because sometimes you're in the middle of a race and someone's at the door, happened to me earlier today and I was in lap 4/6, hated to start all over!

DML booter has a 'titles.txt', try changing that to your needs.
I don't see a "titles.txt" file anywhere O.O It would help a lot if there was a fix for the titles in DML Booter!

I think this question has already been asked and answered, but...

Would there be any way for Crediar to combine DIOS MIOS with Quadforce?
I would LOVE that but I highly doubt there is enough space!

guess i forgot to say that if you change it from virtualfighter2002 to f_zero_ax for example then the old name is 18 characters the new name is 9 characters the other 9 characters must be present as 00 in hex for it to work properly
sorry i thought everyone would know this next time ill explain better

Some loaders allow you to use a different name without editing the ISO.
either an .ini file to edit, or use a different path name.

For example : SD;/games/F-Zero AX [GFZJ8P]/game.iso
USBLoaderGX will then use the Title and GameID found in that folder name, not the one inside the ISO.
(if you already used the old path name, clear the Cache in the loader to force the folder's name as Game Title)


Edit:
in order to use the folder's name as Game's Title, you need to set "Force title from disc" to OFF, or else it will open the ISO and take the name from there.

Just make a new .txt file and save as titles.txt, then place it in either DM-Booter folder or root, I forget which one too, some trial and error should work for you bud, it's your easiest solution if you want to use DM-Booter w/o Hex Editing the ISO. Otherwise you can use the custom-titles.ini and launch w/WiiFlow or use the suggestion that Cyan posted to use USBL-GX.

I launch everything through WiiFlow no problem personally.
