Hello, this is just a quick guide to increase the compatibility of Nintendo 64 games in Wiiflow.
Wiiflow supports plugins for various emulators, including Nintendo 64. The plugin that gives the best compatibility across the most games is called Not64.
However, there are several games not supported by Not64, including Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1-3, Toy Story and Tetris, all of which are essentially unplayable.
These games do work however using a different emulator called Wii64-Rice. There are also many more that work better on Wii64-Rice, despite Not64 having the wider range of compatibility.
The solution? Make a Wiiflow menu that simply displays all your Nintendo 64 games, but, when you select a game that work betters on Wii64-Rice, that emulator launches, then, when you select a game that works better with Not64, that game gets launched in that emulator instead. However all games are still simply displayed in one single list with no distinction between the two types, so all games still display as one, single "Nintendo 64" list.
Step 1. Find the Wiiflow plugins for Wii64-Rice and Not64, I got mine from the ABZ Masterpack, but they're also in the Quest for Wiiflow plugins pack.
Step 2. Create a multisource button that uses both emulators. To do this, go to USB:\WiiFlow\source_menu\source_menu.ini and edit the file in a text editor. Create a new button like so [BUTTON_5] and underneath that heading create a line that says "source=plugin", then create another line called "magic=4E4F3634,57493634" (These are the two magic numbers for Not64, and Wii64-Rice).
Step 3. Now on Wiiflow, you have a new button which displays both Wii64-Rice and Not64 emulators, however, you will now have 2 copies of each game that you have specified within those emulators, since you have both emulators displaying, you now have 2 copies of every Nintendo 64 game displaying.
Step 4. To fix this, create a new category by going to USB:\WiiFlow\settings\categories_lite.ini and edit the file with a text editor. Under [GENERAL] add a new category by adding the line "cat11=Nintendo 64" and increase the "numcategories" by one number.
Step 5. Now simply remove one of the two magic numbers in your source button in Step 2. (57493634 is Wii64-Rice, 4E4F3634 is Not64). After setting just one under your source button, go back to Wiiflow and see that only one emulator is displayed. Now select a random game, and set it's category by going into the game's settings and checking the box for the new category you created "Nintendo 64." Then swap around the magic numbers on the computer to then only display the other emulator, and repeat the process, going on the Wii and selecting another random game and setting a second game's category as "Nintendo 64" for the other plugin.
Step 6. Now on the computer go to USB:\WiiFlow\source_menu\source_menu.ini and make sure to put back both emulators again so it says "magic=4E4F3634,57493634", now add another line which says "category=" and make it equal the number of the new category you created called "Nintendo 64", with the number found in USB:\WiiFlow\settings\categories_lite.ini.
Step 7. Now go to USB:\WiiFlow\settings\categories_lite.ini and you will notice a heading called [4E4F3634] with a single game in it, and another heading called [57493634] with a single game in it. These are the two games you randomly set, with each one under a different header as each one is set on a different emulator, either Wii64-Rice or Not64. Take note of whatever is after the = sign after the name of the game, as this is how you will set each game.
Step 8. Now go to USB:\WiiFlow\settings\titlesdump.ini and scroll down until you find the list of all titles of all your Nintendo 64 games, then copy and paste the entire list under one of the two headings in USB:\WiiFlow\settings\categories_lite.ini. Now for each game, move it to either under the heading [4E4F3634] if you want that game to run in Not64 or put the game underneath the heading [57493634] if you want the game to launch in Wii-64. Make sure you add an = sign after the game and make it the same as what was after the equals sign when you first set the two games to the category "Nintendo 64".
When you're done, since the source button is set to only display games from the category "Nintendo 64" and each game is only set to that category under one emulator and not the other, you will get no doubles, but only a single copy of each game, but with each game launching in the better emulator for that particular game each time you click on a game.
