Just so you know, even if you remove the modification traces of what you have done is still there. Once hacked it is always hacked. You just have to pray that Nintendo didn't bother checking it on detail.

To remove it, use AnyTitleDeleter to delete any cIOS you have installed. Then use Hackmii to remove HBC.

Pretty sure I saw a thread where someone got nintendo to repair their modified Wii U with out any issues. If your issue is related to the Wii U they probably won't even check. The worst that will happen is they send your console back to you unrepaired.

However this is the reason I will not hack my Wii U until it is out of warranty. Even then Nintendo will sometimes do out of warranty repairs for free (an example on Wii is the console not reading dual layer games, however they won't do it if the console is modified).

I've sent my older Wii plenty of times while it was modified even with a hard mod. I don't think they bother to opened it up so I guess I'll just send it as is.
You're lucky, I have heard of repairs refused due to softmod....how else would it be known that Nintendo can detect deleted softmods? In my case they refused a repair not because of softmod but because my console was used from gamestop and had a sticker on it (I guess they open it and clean it or something before selling it) and Nintendo said the console had been opened and they have no idea what may have been done to it and therefore refused to work on it.

I think those reports of them "not caring" about having to fix a modded console are mostly in Europe where they have to deal with laws from so many countries that it's safer just to fix it and be done with it.

NOA is more picky

also, do NOT use AnyTitleDeleter despite it saying it that it removes more traces of a title than what data management does (which it does) it ALSO uses a fake IOS0 ticket to get access to stuff ... and it leaves it behind when it's done which Ninty has been known to spot on repair jobs.

Luckily, vWii doesn't have as many modifications that can be done to it to it as a Wii so there's nothing like PriiLoader that's gonna leave behind evidence but it's still tricky ... even if it's not impossible. (and if you've used the IOS80 patched you're kinda screwed unless you can find a good source for a CLEAN IOS80 vWii WAD to replace it with and if you remove it you're BRICKED.)

I'm no expert but I'd say your safest bet is just to (1)get the WAD for everything* you've installed, (2)set WAD manager to run off of 249, and (3)UN-install them all in one shot without reseting until they're all gone ... since I think only 249 would have UN-installation permissions and it's one of the ones you need to get rid of so you can't close the WAD manager until you're done.

(and if you don't have the WAD anymore or if it's something like the HBC that where there doesn't exist a WAD for it you'll just have to pack it INTO a WAD first or make a fake WAD and then PRAY that the app you use for that doesn't pull any silly IOS0 type stuff that would leave evidence behind.

* "everything" is probably just IOS's over 200 and any extra channels that you didn't get from the shop channel, a disk game or the transfer tool. If you have WiiFlow you might also have the hidden channel installed as well (WIIH)

If you're talking about the connection to the gamepad, that actually connects with a 2nd, modified WiFi adapter and not through Bluetooth. The Bluetooth is just for wiimotes, pro controllers and the balance board

EDIT :
Oh, and a hardmod is actually LESS likely to be picked up because they can find a softmod without even opening it up. They have a disc they pop in specially designed to test for Wii softmods. I guess the trick is if they're want to take the time to go into vWii to test it or not.

You can remove IOS0 right after you remove any cIOS in one session. Done it before. As long as you do it in one session IOS0 won't re-appear again.

I don't see any difference with ATD compared to other data management/wad manager. If you have the cIOS WAD file you can use WAD Manager which will delete content and ticket, same task as ATD.

But yeah, if you installed fakesigned IOS80 then you are screwed.

Is there anyway to backup a IOS80 before you replace/modify it. Sorry for my ignorance. Also, wouldn't a NAND Dump of the vWii remove all these problems? Plan on getting a Wii U in the future, would like to know some of this stuff before ever trying to hack the vWii.

You can install bootmii on vWii (IOS254). Use it to dump NAND backup, then use ShowMiiWad to extract IOS80 from NAND in wad file.

I sent my Wii U to get repaired. I had the same issue as you did.

My vWii was modded and all I did was delete Homebrew CHannel since that was the only thing I had installed. I did have my CIOS modded (For USB Backup Loaders) but I never mentioned anything about my vWii.

Just sound really young and talk about how the Wii U isnt working.

So just delete the homebrew channel and any unsigned channels (Wad and stuff) and send it in :D

They shouldnt notice it.

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.
