No, I honestly don't. Did I do that?Remember when someone tried to argue that these aren't free since people pay extra to buy games new?
Nope, but it was here somewhere. No, I honestly don't. Did I do that?
I was gonna say.Nope, but it was here somewhere.
There is some legitimacy to the arguments that it's not free. Even if you throw out the "I chose to buy new Nintendo-only games for the coins" (and it does have an effect on my decision, I would have bought more used third-party games if not for the coins), you take multiple surveys for each game. Even though they only take 5-10 minutes each, that does stack up.I was gonna say.
That was an extremely silly argument, whoever made that, though... You're not paying EXTRA to get the games new, you're paying LESS to get the games used... There's a HUGE difference, not to mention that Club Nintendo Codes don't even factor into that (I bought at least two or three used games not too long ago that had unused Club Nintendo codes).
You're already wasting your time playing games. Nintendo figured you had five more minutes to waste filling out a survey. There is some legitimacy to the arguments that it's not free. Of course they don't have to, but they promise to give you extra stuff if you meet said requirements, all of which benefit them financially. You're already wasting your time playing games. Nintendo figured you had five more minutes to waste filling out a survey.
There is no legitimacy to that argument. Nintendo doesn't have to give you anything, much less extra free stuff.
You don't even have to legitimately fill those surveys out, though. You can easily just click the first option for each multiple choice question, and scrawl "sakfjasjkalksf" with the keyboard for the text questions, and leave it at that, if you wanted.Of course they don't have to, but they promise to give you extra stuff if you meet said requirements, all of which benefit them financially.
Look, I'm not complaining (although I admit I was very disappointed by the Platinum gift last year), I'm just saying that it's not like the user does absolutely nothing for Nintendo to get those coins.
I always put thought into those review boxes. I hold up my end of the deal, even if it's unlikely that my input won't be significant. You don't even have to legitimately fill those surveys out, though. Crap, points expire??Yeah, Europe Club Nintendo sucks. It's done nothing for me so far - just taken a load of points away from me a few years ago due to them 'expiring' (as if virtual points expire ). I bought a 3DS after all the ambassador promotions and the 'win a free 3DS' competition and then received no free £35 game as I didn't buy the XL. I'd honestly pay double whatever you guys are paying in points in order to be able to download a game - I have loads of stars now, especially thanks to Eerpow and I'm sitting on them waiting for something to appear in the eShop.
(I'm hoping it may change soon though due to the very recent revamp of the website and transition of 'points' to 'stars' or w/e. Also, there's a category in the catalogue for 'Online Items' which sounds promising.)
Crap, points expire??
Yep.
I don't think the EU club Nintendo is that bad.
I've gotten some decent stuff from it.
Mario Kart trophy.

How often do they expire? I have around 2000 and I'm waiting for something worthwhile to pop-up, the only item ive ordered in the kid icarus AR cards.
Yep, this is how crap Nintendo Club has been to me:Crap, points expire??

No, you pay for the game AND the code. Do you really think sales would be exactly the same if Club Nintendo didn't exist? If that were true, they would just shut it down. They would be losing money from the cheap prizes the give.Yeah, the argument was retarded. They basically made it sound like "You're paying for the code." Which is dumb, because you're paying for the game. The code just comes with it. If you were paying for the code, you would pay like 62 bucks and not 60. I never understood why retards said the codes aren't free. They are. They don't cost nothing. The game does, not the piece of paper.
