According to a rating by the Korean Ratings Board, the 3DS exclusive Resident Evil: Revelations will be coming to consoles.

The rating added two separate ratings for Resident Evil: Revelations for both the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3.

The game did support the 3DS's Circle Pad Pro, allowing for dual stick type controls, so the leap to consoles isn't that out of this world.

If this turns out to be true, I can scratch one of the... Five reasons to get a 3DS?

I scratched Metal Gear Solid 3D soon after it was released and turned out to be crap, the other three reasons would be RE:Mercenaries, because I imagine it to be fun as a short-session time killer, Fatal Frame because I like that kind of horror and Monster Hunter 4, which isn't even out yet. Ahh... You still fail to sway me, 3DS... But continue, I just may buy you when you're cheaper.

I'm just curious about one thing - will there be a novel adaptation? I'm not so sure about playing the game, but I've always wanted to read the book of Revelations.

Mercs 3D was supposed to be kinda crap honestly.

Thats just nice now they are getting a port of a 3ds game how low can consoles go
The 3DS is a console, your argument is invalid.

The proper distinction is "Home Console" and "Handheld Console", which we call "Handheld" for short, however the term is too broad as "Handheld" may as well refer to any device that you hold in your hand.

I always enjoyed Mercenary Mode and to be honest, I don't expect the game to be stellar - I don't think that was the point the developers had in mind. Like I said, I treat it more as a time killer for short gaming sessions than an actual gaming experience. I enjoy playing Mercenaries and I believe I would enjoy playing Mercenaries on-the-go, the format is perfect for that kind of gameplay.

Scratch what? You are not getting a 3DS ever.

Yeah, I can see your reasoning seeing as it's the only portable Mercs outside of the iOS game which is probably worse.

I already said several times that there are a few 3DS games that I am interested it - simply not enough to validate a purchase. The list I mentioned here is merely the first 5 reasons to get one that I could think of. I've always been an avid Nintendo supporter and I likely always will be - I just grew up to be more reasonable and not jump onto every single console they release expecting miracles. When the library will contain games that I am interested in, and preferably when the system is hacked for homebrew development (and potentially piracy, let's not kid ourselves here), I will get one.

The Vita already gives me the potential to program for it via the PlayStation Mobile SDK (Previously PlayStation Suite), and although it is limited to the lowest common denominator within the Certified Devices family, it's more than enough for programming games, and that can be easily seen judging from the examples that come with the SDK alone. Nintendo defends the 3DS as if it was their virgin daughter, and the only one in the whole village at that, and that policy will not take them far as far as Indie development is concerned. Either they will release a similar kit in the nearby future or they will miss on a whole-new era in gaming, just like they completely overshot the multimedia era two generations ago with the Gamecube or the CD era three generations ago with the N64.

...but I digress!

I would like this, but it reeks of Revelations HD.

I hope CAPCOM at least puts in some effort like new textures, better models, environments and the likes and not just make it play on 1080p to make a few quick bucks.

Well, mercs 3DS just gets a lot of crap because there is no option to delete your save file or start a new game. It was a measure Capcom put in so that the game couldn't be traded back or sold used.
As for revelations going on consoles, I say meh. I dont know what "Revelation," They had, but it wasn't a very good one. The game is fine on a handheld and I cant see it making much money unless it was a 15-20$ XBLA game.

Mercs was also like a side feature on RE4/5/6 and was sold as a $40 retail game. For $30 you could've gotten like RE5: Gold Edition. It seemed more worthy of a pack-in with Revelations.

Also I did hear some goofy things about it like the enemies from a distance just look like rotating 2D Doom sprites.

Being a pretty solid Nintendo fanboy, I actually have no qualms to this. Why? Every Capcom title on the 3DS has been pretty much quality so far, especially compared to the other games that *barely* even came close to maximizing the 3DS hardware.

Capcom and their MT Framework Mobile engine so far has produced fantastic results (just take a look at MH3G, 3D and 60FPS!), and I don't give a minute fraction of a fuck as to whichever platform they decide to put games on, as long as they keep making topnotch quality games for my platform of choice (aka the 3DS).

the other three reasons would be RE:Mercenaries, because I imagine it to be fun as a short-session time killer.
The 3DS version is one of those "if you really like it, sure pay £5" kind of games, they actually put more content into the Mercs mode in RE:R than in that actual standalone 3DS Mercs game and there really is no reason to have both. Mercs 3DS was just a quick dirty no effort job by Capcom.

I expected as much and thought of a similar price point. :creep:
