Nintendo of America boss Reggie Fils-Aime believes Nintendo TVii will serve as a "better mousetrap" for consumers than existing online TV services.
Hmm.. Not sure what to re-act for this.. Because most TV services can actually. Most TV services (except the main ones here like Rogers and Bell) S.U.C.K. My family uses Dish Network here, we are not satisfied. Rogers and Bell charges so much. And I know that this is just going to be kind of like Netflix, but.. lets see how this is going to be.. and I want to see that as soon as I get the Wii U for Christmas, I will see if this will be a 'mousetrap' for me. In case any of you never heard of the Nintendo Tvii - Watch this video -

TVii does look pretty fucking awesome. Netflix, cable and whatever other services all in one app for easy access is really nice.

(Mousetraps don't catch customers. They kill them and rip their bodies to shreds.) :P
Yeah, something NoA said will only be in the U.S. and Canada for starters doesn't catch me very well.

On the other hand, my wife's a big TV watcher so IF it's brought to our country (I think we're technically still NOA jurisdiction) I'm sure it would spark her interest.

Can't be that great. It hasn't even been announced outside of the US.
They probably want to see if it'll be popular first or either that or it's yet another US exclusive but it doesn't really matter much to me since I usually watch things on my computer not my TV,

I wonder if TVII would be available for Australia.
The only Internet services we have is:
-Iview (ABC)
-Quickflix
And the only network service we have is Foxtel, I think

I'm surprisingly satisfied with AT&T U-Verse, minus pricing, so I don't know why they're launching it in the US instead of places where cable providers suck.

We'll all get TVii just because we want it, regardless of how much we like our current providers so I guess the point is mute.

I can confirm Nintendo have a similar service planned for the UK and europe. Can't say if it will be called Nintendo TVii though or something different.

Also a few more Nintendo Directs are incoming guys!
New details on the way and full showing of why the WiiU deserves to be in your living room.
PS: SONY + MICROSOFT cannot provide these ^ services due to internal contracts, but Nintendo can :)

Source: Yep, can't really say. You will see very soon.

Erm.. If you mean Hulu, Netflix or Amazon Video for example, all of those can be watched on the PS3/360 already. I'd presume all cable providers will have to make some kind of transfer to the modern age of TV, maybe it could start from here. Not saying that it's a bad thing that Nintendo added them to the WiiU, on the contrary.

Not sure if that was your point, but so far the Nintendo TV hasn't offered anything new outside the controller interface of the WiiU controller and what it brings along. Maybe that's the new thing, but we shall see.

While that sounds good and some of it is to be expected, I can't help be a bit skeptical that you have insider info,
but I wouldn't mind being wrong. :P

Sounds like you work for the gaming industry, well if so that's ok.

I wouldn't mind Nintendo TVii, it encourages competition however I need to know the features before investing in it.
