Hacking Dios Mios 2.2 on emulated nand = not work

Hi im trying to run GC games from usb using newest DIOS MIOS v2.2 xNEEK DIup, but when i try wii turn off.

I made a clean nand with modmii, i choose uneek+di[to nand be on hdd], choose to install nmm[with this modmii instal bc-v6 and mios10], after nand be ready, i fallow this steps to install DIOS MIOS v2.0 xNEEK DIup into this new nand.

copy di.bin to \sneek\
and copy the .app into folder \title\00000001\00000100\content
Note: Requires BCv6 to be installed!

GC game is on games folder on hdd, folder has created by DiscEX 0.8

Gc game appear on neek menu,and joyflow, but not on postloader, when í try run wii on neek menu, channel only show gc logo and turn off my wii,if i try in joyflow goes to system menu.

Anyone can help me?

I know is more easy just install DIOSMIOS_2.2.wad on real nand and use any loader to play.

But i want play without install wad on real nand, make all in emulated nand.

I dont sure type of sneek i should use,to play gc games from usb.

Are you using uneek+DI or neek2o? neek2o is a modification of Uneek+DI; IIRC, it's also the default type modmii uses (easy check: if you can run .wbfs files on your neek nand, you have neek2o).

On neek2o, this is a known issue*. According to this post, it should be solved. However, that new version isn't made public yet (plus that modmii won't instantly use it). So until that time, most people on neek2o have that shutdown issue...unless they ignore the "copy the .app file to ..." procedure and install the wad to their real nand.



*not sure if it's because of neek2o or the xneek files on the google code.
EDIT: as it turns out, chances are big that it's because of postloader (see my post below).

You have to select the correct dm(l) version pressing [home] when in gamecube mode...

Yes, I do this and selected dm 2.2 usb,now afeter execute GC game not power off just go to system menu.

Now i try to make nand for sneek+di without neek2o, to see if have more luck.

Now only postloader 4 can run GC games[usbloaderGX can only see luigi mansion and ignore others, CFG loader can see luigi mansion and 1 CD off metal guear, both cant play GC game ], and in emu nand wii still turn off when i try run GC game.

Tested with sucess, luigi mansion and metal gear twin snakes[cd 1 e 2] all works perfect on postloader4 for me.

My wii is black,my tv is 21 CRT with no progressive scan[i try force interlaced option and force ntsc or force 60].

And dios mios logo want force show in progressive i see screen with problem then dissapear, and game come with question if i want ability progressive scan.

most loaders require that the iso is named "game.iso" and is located here :

I'm not sure, but my tests with Neek2o make me think that can only be used DM-Neek+Di with the emu-nand if you have bootmii in boot2 and put in the sd:\bootmii\armboot.bin and sd:\sneek\kernel.bin (both of Neek2o) if not the wii just goes off.

In your case doesn't work because you haven't BootMii in boot2.
Although I'm not sure.

Edit: Certainly, for me works very well DM-Neek+Di-v2.2 in emu-nand.

I try several times,and blue drive led is on and blink 6 times and back to be on for a lot time and blink 6 times again, tv show only black screen.

I using postloader> sneek> ios254 method.

Yes you can, but only with bootmii as ios, so.. for DIOS MIOS that's not a working setup AFAIK.

I did some tests (and spoke with one of the neek2o author), and I was somewhat wrong with my previous assumption.

Postloader is my main loader for everything in neek2o. This includes DML, and later, DM. After a whole bunch of failed tests with DML, I noticed it only worked when I installed the wad on real nand. This carried over to DM later. Obviously an error, but I thought it was something between neek2o and DM(L). I never thought of my loader.

As it turns out, there is a different procedure to get DM working on neek2o. But before I tell you, I must warn you that I haven't been able to get this to work myself (this is undoubtedly because I'm testing betas of upcoming neek2o patches).

Either way...if you take a look at the instructions on the download page of xNEEK_DI page of DIOS MIOS, it'll say the following:
1. copy di.bin to \sneek\
2. and copy the .app into folder \title\00000001\00000100\content\
3. Note: Requires BCv6 to be installed!

1. isn't needed: the di.bin file of neek2o already has it
3. also is taken care of (though I can't recall the technical details)
2. is where things greatly differ. This 00000008.app file needs to be renamed to "diosmios.bin" and put into USB:\sneek\ (assuming uneek2o).

I have honestly no idea if this will get things to work for you. And even if they do, it's very possible that it'll only work through the neek2o wii channel.

Im not sure but i think neek2o channel use nswitch1.0 to boot nand, if is correct i have here nswitch1.0 to boot on sd, and this work fine to load nand.

Whell í try this rename 00000008.app to diosmios.bin and put on sneek folder on usb,postloader not turned off wii, still on black screen,and can't can turned off with console power button.

Anyone with wii black can play GC from usb in sneek nand?

Note: I updated my second paragraph of my previous post, as it wasn't clear at all I was talking about DM. It should be this:

Also keep note that the color of the wii means nothing: under the hood, everything's the same as for other colors.
(okay, a non-white wii means it'll only be able to install bootmii as IOS, but that doesn't mean much difference here).
