I didn't use this tool, I always use DiskEx for DM, and both Mario Golf and Batman Dark Tomorrow would freeze in the GC Loader screen if compressed, however non-compressed they both worked fine, and yes I did try different isos with the same reasult and asked around about Batman Dark Tomorrow with the same answer, so how you got the game to work while compressed is beyond me but it didn't work for me!

Very strange then because I tried to start a uncompressed image of Mario Golf (PAL) and it just hung up an the DM splash screen.
No matter what I try (different DM versions, different loaders) always the same problem. :(

If that's the case and your issue is the same as mine then most likely your iso is already compressed, yeah Mario Golf is already over 1GB size!

im pretty sure cios was letting hds fall asleep when they were playing wii games back in the day till someone wrote some sort of code in to keep them from doing so. Im not saying its possible in DM but u sure like to shoot people down quickly. GC loading from SD or USB wasnt EVER going to be possible right?

Hm, I don't think so. I've already checked the iso, filesize is 1459978240 bytes and its MD5 is matching http://redump.org/disc/10015/
I've tried the NTSC release and its working. Really strange. :(

I'm having an issue with Four Swords Adventures. When I complete the first stage, the game comes up with the "An error has occured" screen. I have tried the game both compressed and uncompressed, and I'm using USB Loader GX (1193, I believe) and the latest DM.

Dax is your hdd spinning down?
I don't believe so, because no other GCN game has given me errors.

Edit: One of the options in the settings of USB Loader GX worked and I was able to continue on without an error. I turned on a bunch of settings at once, so I'll have to find out which worked.

Second Edit: Now it's working fine without any of the settings. Welp.

Was gonna point out that I'm well into the third stage, so it might have been your image, but I guess all's well? Mine's NTSC, DiscEx'd, no disc, USBLGX 1193mod02

crediar your custom mios is nothing short of pure genius. I want you to know that I look up to coders like you who set out to contribute something major to the community and actually come through.

The phenomenal success of your work was/is surprising to me since (at a point) it seemed all odds were against you. It all goes to show what the human brain is capable of when a person is truly determined and has a never ending thirst for knowledge and achievement. Well done.

I'm posting on this thread to congratulate you and also because I have a request for your project. Well it seems others have already voiced their desire for this feature so I am just going to propagate it further.

Forced widescreen support.

It doesn't seem like a whole lot of people (users) are too interested in this feature but I think that may be due to a lack of understanding the greatness that such a feature can add to the game-play experience.

For instance, $ony has been releasing so called "HD Remakes" of titles from their PS2 library and will continue to do so because of the success they have experienced with this marketing strategy. These remakes boast features like 16:9 widescreen support as well as high resolution textures and rendering. These enhancements alone are enough to warrant customers re-buying a game they had already paid for.

In my opinion widescreen functionality in these older games breaths new life into them. You can literally see more of the (in-game) world around you and it certainly creates an enhanced if not brand new experience in games you thought you already knew inside-and-out.

Now I've been paying very close attention to the PS2 widescreen hacking scene and it truly is amazing how much effort is being put into creating a library of widescreen patches for individual games. As of today there are at least 166 games playable in widescreen via the use of a cheat engine and another 40+ games via ELF modification.

The GC scene has it easy - we don't have to go and create patches for individual games. As seen in the Swiss project this functionality is incredibly versatile and works with (not all but) many games.

So with that being said I would like to leave you with a link to the Google Code changes page for Swiss r155 (revision that added widescreen forcing). Maybe you are already perfectly acquainted with the method used to force widescreen but if not then checking out these code changes should prove useful. Now if I was a developer I would just take that code and add it to DM myself but sadly I am not quite that capable.

So, sorry all for the long post and once again thanks for this amazing project crediar! You have my sincerest appreciation, gratitude and respect. :)

I second this. As we already have 480p forcing option for the games that doesn't support this video mode, we only have 16:9 left for gamecube to be very enjoyable on modern HDTVs.

Hey guys first post here, first of all I'd like to say thanks for this great mod! Love playing GC games from HDD!!!

I had a bit of trouble getting it to work (stupid apploader fatal error!!) But if anyone else is struggling with that the way I fixed it was merged all the partitions on my HDD back together and then made the partition for GC games the first partition and it fixed that.

Anyway this isnt that big a deal at all but I'm having a bit of trouble installing the Forwarder wads, I just get error (1035) again this isnt a big problem but it would still be nice if someone knew how to fix it :)

Thanks in advance!

Is there a guide on how to get DIOS MIOS Lite running? I'm completely new to it, and I saw that it "Emulates Memorycard", and I don't have GC memory card, so this could be great for me, but I'm kinda at a lost as to where I start.

Well it's very simple now, all you have to do is download this .wad file http://code.google.c.../downloads/list if you wanna use Dios Mios Lite which uses the SD card, or this wad file http://code.google.c.../downloads/list if you wanna use Dios Mios which let's you play the games off USB drive, and install it with Wad Manager or any manager of your choice!

Tthen use any loader of your choice, a lot of people recommend DML Boater, personally I prefer USB Loader GX, you can also use Gonfigurable USB Loader, Wiiflow or NeoGamma!

However NMM (No More Memory) is still incomplete in DM/DML and many games still don't work, or so I hear, I dunno for sure how far it works as I have 3 memory cards so I always use memory cards and they work great, if you want to run GC games without having a Memory Card then you're probably better wait for Devolution, though Devolution might need you to actually own the disk you wanna play!

DML and DM both create a specific save file for each game on your SD card. Devolution creates one 16mb memory card file. The DML and DM so far can only be used in those programs but the one Devolution makes can be used in the Dolphin Emulator or if you do end up buying a gc memory card you can copy your saves to it using GCMM (gamecube memory card manager).

I like the ability to transfer the save to be used on other programs and devices. Specifically with animal crossing, I already have one town that I've done pretty much everything with so it's nice to be able to make a new town using Devolution without having to delete my save from my real memory card.

Strangely, Dios Mios is very fickle for me, here's what I've learned about it:

-Will only boot if USB HDD is in Port 1
-Won't boot when the Wii is turned on after turning it off when finished playing a Gamecube game (either this or I have to disconnect then reconnect my HDD before it will run Gamecube games again)
-Won't boot if the Wii is turned on from standby (the light has to be red)
-Won't boot if I return to the System Menu from a Wii game
-Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures errors after intro
-Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess freezes after catching a fish

Maybe it's either Port 1 or my hard drive, but it seems to be much more fickle for me than it does for others. I use a Seagate FreeAgent Go-Flex 1TB

I found the cause of the bolded issues: The hard drive would go into power saving mode by the time I got up to those points mentioned above.

ya ur hd spindown is happenin its going to sleep... heres a easy way to see if thats ur problem. Play mario sunshine and enter the first level not the delfino plaza but the first level and just stand there untill ur hd turns off then see what happends. It will give you a error
