I have different results :(
From ISO, only "Force PAL480p" is working
From Disc, only "Force NTSC480p" is working.

I'll have to try with the other loaders to see if they have the same results.
I think it's only an USB loader GX problem.

- Someone reported that launching Wii games shut down the console.
Anyone has the same problem?
reported on 2.3 and 3.0

- I have another problem myself:
Wii games size are wrongly detected from the retail discs, so I can't run it, and I can't dump it either.
Nobody else have this problem?

yes this happened once with me and i thought the loader had issues, i power on back and everything was fine......i hope someone finds the cause of this behaviour (i was suing Wiiflow mod)
now that i remmeber, i think it happened with 2 other games with USB Loader GX, they always Shut down My wii, i deleted them, i thought they are not Supported (they were Japanese Games, sorry i do not remmember which)
USB Laoder always Freezes on some Games, but when i use CFG Loader Or wii Flow the same games never Freeze (wii Games) i still use USB LOADER GX simply for its easy on the Eye and siimple interface.

- some game cube games i run from USB Loader GX gives me a Green Bar at Bottom of Screen, can it be fixed via Settings? i do not have this issue with same games running from WiiFlow Mod
EDIT: fixed the green screen problem by forcing NTSC480p+Force interlace, i believe Cyan made changes to last revision so now some games that display black screen or green bars have to be set up manually.
- does anyone know if we will be able to run retail discs from Disc Channel? it is very troublesome to go back and forth patching my mios wad everytime i need to play my retail games. why cant we have both, any technical info would help.
- i would really like to play Mario Kart GP 01 or 02 without changing the Dios Mios to quadcore wad, will USB loader GX Support these games? i know they are Triforce Arcade games...but they have been proven to run Fine.

cheers

AFAIK, that's not possible as Crediar made DM and Quadforce separately and thus you cannot have both on your systems' MIOS at the same time... Not really a USBLGX issue AFAIK...

i already know its not a usb loader issue i am just asking if somehow it was possible, i do not care about the other guys work (Crediar, in his readme file he is angry cuz someone leaked his project and decided to not update in public, i am asking if someone able to patch or find a way to make them work without his quadcore or work.

- on a seprate topic, i would dream of a stand alone channel that just plays Triforce games (should have its own wads and nessesary files to play mario Kart and other Triforce Releases, i am not an expert and it may be impossible to even program it as a channel)
another wish is to see someone port the xbox1 Ultra Emulator to play killer instinct 1 & 2 (i still do not understand why Killer instinct gold isnt running in ijected roms or is it? i have not checked.)

like I just replied to you by PM, I'll say it here too (it could help other users).

You are not using the latest beta.
You need r1193 mod02, which stop forcing the use of Progressive mode if it detects a component cable.

The solution was just to use "Force Interlace" setting, but nobody care to change the settings (users don't try to change any settings by themselves?)
So, in the 1193 mods, I changed the way it's working: It's now always using interlace by default and you need to enable "Force Progressive" if you want 480p + "Progressive Patch" if needed. Two options instead of one! Even more options for users who don't understand what they are used for  .

But, as there are now more options and that the video mode is not selected automatically anymore, I have difficulty to code the "default behavior" correctly for all games. (Disc and ISO have different behavior, that's really strange).

- does anyone know if we will be able to run retail discs from Disc Channel? it is very troublesome to go back and forth patching my mios wad everytime i need to play my retail games. why cant we have both, any technical info would help.
Again, You don't have the latest version.
You need DIOS MIOS v2.0 Update 5

- i would really like to play Mario Kart GP 01 or 02 without changing the Dios Mios to quadcore wad, will USB loader GX Support these games? i know they are Triforce Arcade games...but they have been proven to run Fine.
You need to install QuadForce, and place the games on SD cards.
You can only have one MIOS at a time.

QuadForce, DIOS MIOS and DIOS MIOS Lite are all different MIOS, when you install one the previous one is overwritten.

MIOS = play retail Gamecube games
DIOS MIOS = Play Retail and backup from USB
DIOS MIOS Lite = Play retail and backups from SD
QuadForce = Play backup Arcade from SD

- on a seprate topic, i would dream of a stand alone channel that just plays Triforce games (should have its own wads and nessesary files to play mario Kart and other Triforce Releases, i am not an expert and it may be impossible to even program it as a channel)
Channels already exists, but you still need to install the correct MIOS (quadforce).

Thanks for the reply!

I followed your instructions, deleted my old nand folder, used d2xv8 final in base 56 slot 249, triple checked the paths, dumped the new nand, and still no luck. :(

Any other ideas?
No, sorry.
I don't have any other ideas why it doesn't work.

You can try ShowMiiWads to install wads to the emuNand.

CaveStory is a working game (I played it myself).
Maybe the region is important? I used WCVE, I guess you too.

humm, maybe you can try to install it on realNand, then dump your realNand with the game already there.
If it works, then the wad installation has a problem.

-this may be a troublesome solution, but you may have to check each game and pre setup/edit how they should display and store that info inside the ini file or whatever usb loader GX use for its CFG settings. or just let users figure them out :moogle:
i have no experience how the coding works on this matter, but either USB loader has to pre Test and chsoe what option will let the game work/display correctly, again this is just me talking, i dont know how it works lol

did not know about the Mario gp channels, thanks for the info
- is there cheats for Game cube games? like how wii games use Ocarina?

yes, it works like wii games.
Just go to the game settings, enable Ocarina in the "Loader settings" menu, and select the codes to enable in "Ocarina" Menu.

The only requirement is that you place the "GCT CheatCode Path" to the same partition than the backup.

About the green bar at the bottom of games:

At least with Mario Sunshine NTSC, it's because you force 480p and you enable "Progressive Patch".
if you want to run in 480p, don't enable Progressive Patch on NTSC games.

If you have more games with green bar, I would like some details on all the settings you tried.

Here is a model for all the tests I need:
GAME NAME (game Region), Wii region:
system default 50Hz (576i):
system default 60Hz (480i):
system default HDTV (480p):
Disc default (NTSC):
Force PAL50:
Force PAL60:
Force NTSC:
Patch Region:
Force PAL 480p:
Force NTSC 480p:

for each mode, I need to know :
- "DML Progressive Patch" setting is enabled/disabled?
- Is the 50/60Hz selector screen visible (on games with such choice)?
- Are both 50 and 60 working?
- is the resolution kept at 480p when forced to 480p?
- Are the colors correct?
- are you using component or composite?

And you need to do that with ALL games, on USB AND on Disc!
then you can see that I can't make a database with default settings by myself.
The user need to test settings himself.

I still didn't test all settings combination for Paper Mario on Disc to fix the wrong colors.

You might want to try this workaround: http://gbatemp.net/t...ost__p__4184775

Just gotta say thanks and that this loader is amazing. Added it just for the GC ripping (CFG was giving me issues) but have full on switched now, even replacing my the real system menu at startup.

Not terribly familiar with the workings of emuNAND, but would it be possible to set up separate NAND's for different MIOS', and then launch games specifically through a specified NAND? For example, the user above who ask about running Triforce and DM at the same time, have all of them installed to his SD Card (or HDD for GC games) and set a separate emuNAND path to load through?

i am looking into that right now, rightnow i just put the triforce games in a seperate SD card and usually i patch my ios to play them
then when i am done i put back my regular sd card and patch back to Dios Mios

they can all be in one SD card.....point is i do not like th eidea of patching and losing my ability to load NGC games.

well about the cheat codes, i have them stored in my SD card and they load fine with Wiiflow, but strange enough, Game Cube Twilight princess has no codes in database (AccioHacks) had to manualy make and convert them.

if i see the green bar again, ill make a list when i have more then 3 games with the issue and post the settings i tried.
but as far as i can tell, running the games from retail, Japanese or USA Games, never gave me the green bar.

What I'm talking about doing is a bit more complex, but as a temporary solution you could probably install quadforce into a sneek nand and boot dml booter (or one of the forwarder channels linked earlier) from there, and keep Dios Mios on your realNAND

i just read the tutorial, from what i understand is i still need to switch to the other nand to play the games? unless realNand & EmuNand can be accessed at the same time which i doubt it

the topic with mario GP channels is more convenient, to just install channel wads and just change to quad core before i run the games.

in the end it all goes back to the same problem, quadcore needs to be integrated into Dios Mios.

yes you can do that,

with neek2o you can play any combination the DM(L) Quadforce.

*snip*
There you go then, @xenocard, that sounds like the best solution for you

I guess what I was thinking was that a loader might be able to access separate nands and load them on a per game basis, I know with neek2o you can switch nands on the fly, but I don't think there would be a way for any loader to launch a game within a nand without actually booting into that nand, unless someone wants to correct me on that

in the end it all goes back to the same problem, quadcore needs to be integrated into Dios Mios.

I don't see that happening, the memory constraints are already tight as it is loading GC games from something other than disc, integrating a different (albeit similar) architecture would probably never fit into the 96k available.

That's what d2x "Partial Emulation" is doing.
It redirects only a part of the NAND path to emuNAND (/titles/ path) without actually booting on it, and keep the other paths to real NAND (to access real Wii synch, Mii, settings, etc.)
But GameCube games are not using a cIOS, so it can't switch/redirect the paths to any emuNAND without booting on that NAND first.

I don't know if BC can launch a different MIOS installed in different slots, or if MIOS always has to be installed on his own slot.
It might not be possible, or else it would have already been done, no?

cant wait to see if they are able to get deevolution to work within usb gx so dm can be killed off.. hopefully deevo's source code can give them enough hints to make it happen

Hey Cyan, any way you could implement both dios mios and devolution into GX? Maybe click a game and it prompts which loader to choose. devolution for streaming games and dios mios for the rest.

Why do you want dm killed off? It's a fantastic program.

Yeah, i was referring to GC games, probably should have specified that.
