While it's true that nobody can complain about errors and such in a translation they are getting for free, it's also nice to see that the people involved in the project take pride in what they're doing, and don't want to release something that isn't up to their personal standards of quality. People rushing to get something out to please impatient "fans" (and, yes, I am aware that nothing in your post ever specifically asked him to hurry) leads to a half-assed job that nobody's particularly happy with.
Let him take his time and come up with something he's happy with, even if it delays the patch release a bit.
