But you need to resister the UMD and then pay a fee to redownload a game you already own. So its cheaper just to get a PSP in the long run until the Vita has CFW and you can transfer your PSP games through the PC to the Vita.

That's another matter entirely. As is the fact that any console can have "NO GAMES" if you happen to dislike the games available to it. As it stands the Vita generally plays PSP games better than the PSP.

I never said the Vita can't play PSP games better than the PSP. I just said that its not as backward compatible as it seems. I mean some of the games I have aren't compatible on the Vita at the moment and I doubt any time soon. There are quite a few great titles available to the Vita at the moment some more coming soon and in my opinion alot more than the 3DS had at the same point in time but that's a different matter.

The Vita has no games, but the PSP has some so yeah it should be worth it unless you want to wait it out.

Wow....so the Vita, which has access to PSP games (which reportedly look great and control better), has no games, but the PSP which has access to those self same games has some? PARADOX'd!
There are no Vita games, I would much rather play PSP games ON A PSP.
So I dont have to pay $$$ for memory cards and to play them on UMDs

oh just fuck off out of this thread.

obviously you're showing ignorant side because PSP games PLAY and LOOK miles better than on PSP

getting a Vita now will be cheaper in the long run than getting a PSP, then you won't have to re-buy your games and you'll have access to all the vita games

it's silly to get a psp now that the vita is out.

And I get shouted at for going to 3DS threads.

The Vita is a better device for playing PSP games than the PSP itself. If you're going to boohoo about not being able to pirate them then big deal.

EDIT: And I bet you no one would ever say "But a DSi!" when you have a 3DS for obvious reasons. Difference is that you can't pirate PSP games on a Vita so, being the cheap bastards we are, THE PSP IS A MUST BUY. Sorry, I'd rather spend all the money going towards a PSP and their memory cards on a Vita and their memory cards.

Am I wrong or were you saying the 3DS had "no games"
Also, the Vita cannot play UMDs, which means no pre-owned games.

On a serious note though, Uncharted, Wipeout, BlazBlue, Little Big Planet, UMVC3, Dynasty Warriors, ModNation Racers, Ninja Gaiden and other A++ titles frown upon that statement.

Yeah, you're wrong.

Also, if you're really going to cry over paying $10-$30 for a few keynote PSP games then you probably shouldn't either bother.

I'd also like to point how this was a good thread, with some discussion about adapters and their pros and cons, being generally helpful, until FireGrey decided to shit all over it. Remember: Nintendo fans are the victims.

Then don't f*cking buy it. If you have a UMD collection then it's a clear indication that you also have a PSP, so, what's the problem here? Just play your damn games.

If you're buying the Vita then the last thing you should be concerned about are PSP games - you buy a NextGen console to play NextGen games. The feature to download PSP titles was only added so that people may play some quick-and-cheap titles from the previous generation while they wait for the A++ titles to be released, you're not supposed to re-build your PSP collection on the Vita because that's *stupid*, you have a PSP to play your oldies.

No, it was the reaction that ruined the thread.
I said something relevant to the OP and then everyone took it personally.

Well this thread became somewhat undignified. I thought I would be reading people's thoughts on the MSPD vs Micro SD adapter debate.
Same here actually.

I suggest we play the "Ignore FireGrey" game and get back on topic.

So yeah MSPDs are *mumble mumble mumble*
Lol. I'll go where this discussion takes me :D

But I never tried a MSPD adapter before so I don't know if its any better than the actual MSPD but I rushed out and bought one online since getting MicroSD cards are much easier than MSPD here in Australia.

What's everyone's thoughts on M2 cards as a storage medium for the PSP. I have relatively minimal experience with them but I found they performed relatively. I'd be interested if anyone used them for their PSP and their performance.

It's worse, but to me, not sufficiently worse not to warrant the purchase. It's cheaper, it works with games, it's not turtle-slow and I'm happy with it. I only needed one original memory stick for modding and pandora purposes, the rest is held on my twin-8Gb SD's. ;)

I didn't like the way they were introduced as the only method for the Go - I believe that Sony should've been consistent throughout the entire PSP line and use the same storage medium, but then again, I'm picky.

Other then that, they're the same thing as far as I know, just smaller. You can make a performance test if you'd like to compare between them and a standard card.
