Hello there!

I have a 3001 PSP with a problem: it does not detect any of my two batteries. In "battery source", it shows "External", however, both batteries seem to output a normal amount of voltage in their contacts.
I'm no technician and I don't really know much about electrical issues. Has my PSP itself gone bad? Can I repair it? Or are both my batteries busted?

Can someone help me?
Than you!

Edit: The batteries are knock-offs from a Brazilian brand named BMax (both of them, I think it's the only or at least main seller of PSP Batteries in Brazil).

They are knock-offs! It's basically impossible to find original PSP batteries for reasonable prices in Brazil.
Do you think it might be the batteries?
Most likely the batteries. The cheap knock-offs aren't known to have good chips inside.

I'd recommend getting a Cameron Sino as a replacement, but you can try other brands as well.

If you get a Cameron Sino battery, make sure it's the white label one. I've noticed a trend that the black labeled ones perform worse than the white labeled ones, so I'm assuming they're knock-offs of the knock-offs.

I'll be looking into it. Do you have a website I should look to buy? Or AliExpress is ok?

Ostent might be an alternative to Cameron Sino. Just got one for my 1000 and it's working great
Ooooh ok, I'm gonna look for it as well.

I don't recommend buying Cameron Sino batteries from AliExpress. They (specifically the "Cameron Sino Battery Flagship Store", but all of the other stores do this too) show the white labeled batteries in their pictures but reviews show black labeled batteries. Very risky and not worth it (in my opinion) since AliExpress won't give the money back most of the time.

Cameron Sino batteries usually cost around 18 to 20 USD to buy, so if someone is selling it for any lower than that, it's a red flag and you should be cautious if it being fake.

Honestly though, if you can, buy from Amazon. Even if you get a dud, most of the time, Amazon will give your money back.

Otherwise you're stuck having to order directly from Cameron Sino. They charge around 5 USD per battery but require a minimum order of 10 afaik. They enforce a resale price of $18.99 or something, so this is where that price I mentioned before came from.
Source: Some Reddit post on r/psp - can't give a direct link since they're protesting and made it private

If you feel like it's worth it, I'd recommend buying the CS-SP112XL battery instead of the CS-SP112SL battery. It's for the 2000/3000 series but capacity is 1800 mAh instead of the standard 1200 mAh.

Cameron Sino have an anti-counterfeit system, but I don't think it really works...

EDIT: If you feel up for the challenge, you could try building your own battery.

1200 mAh lithium polymer: ??????? - don't know the battery code, do your own research on dimensions

Thank you! I'll see what I can do...
20 dollars is like, 10-15% of my salary, so it might not be possible right now (and I could probably buy another PSP for that if I look hard enough...)

But this does help me! I'm deeply grateful!

Idk if this will help but I have to trick my psp to start charging.
What I have to do is remove the battery, plug the psp into the wall, and then insert the battery.
