Ok, simple question: What disc do you guys have in your wii drive while testing r26?
Original New Super Mario in a Pal Wii drive(composite and component cables). Tried r25, r26 installed in real nand and got black screen with all games tested NTSC or PAL : Mario Sunshine, F-Zero Pal, Beach Spikers ntsc and Tales of Symphonia Pal. All these games start with r21 in neogamma. I admit I didn't compile the DML elf myself and just took the compiled versions.

Ok, about the issue: "Meh nothing works anymore with r27, with r21 everything was fine except 1 or 2 games":

1. What disc did you have in the drive?
2. How did you build DML?
3. Component cables?
4. Have you tried deleting the cache files on the sd card?
5. What does the log say?

I've been testing DML on my Wii with a dead drive (no disc inside). I've been able to use up to rev 21 successfully on that Wii using Wiiflow (NeoGamma gives a DVD error). Everything higher blackscreens on Wiiflow and still gives the same error on NeoGamma.

Going to try r26 and then r27. Seems like the r21 is the most stable so far. Well, gonna try and see it for myself.

better try r27 tomorrow. I'll just keep all the wads on my SD in case it wont work :P

It does sound like the fix some of the games need with :

"-added loading of DOLs and real disc support again"

Also, could my problems come from the fact I'm installing on real NAND? just wondering...
I really want to play colosseum again :(

Been testing Pokémon Colosseum just there. It was working no problem in r26, but in r27 it crashes after the splash screens. Logs aren't showing anything significant from what I can tell.

On a completely unrelated topic. I've been trying to compile r26 with NMM support. I assume all I need to do is uncomment the #define CARDMODE in global.h? I tried that already and compiled successfully, but it didn't seem to work. Couldn't recognise the SD card as a memory card, and real memory cards weren't being recognised either. Am I missing something?

Let's see...

1. Bloodrayne PAL (retail)
2. I used Fix94's package mentioned just a few posts earlier (linky). Combined it with DML_create_Wad v6 (from his guide), ran the batch file, installed the resulting wad to the real nand.
3. Yes (though I've tested with regular ones afterwards).
4. is that the cache000000.bin file and/or the dmcache2.bin file(s) in the root of the SD? If so...then yes.
5. The following:

I used neogamma r56 on real nand. Haven't changed the settings from default. When starting the game, it flashes green for some seconds...then stays black.

So they buy a pi5 kit for about $150 and say a 28" 4k display probably looking around $400 total
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They'll be getting in the territory of portable Pcs anyway
    +1
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Again you get what you pay for, its like buying a S series for $300 but its only 1440p native, if you want true 4k, gotta get the X model for $500. But yea you right, when moms buying it anyways, you gotta stay cheap.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They could use HD out on their TV no real need for a monitor these days tbh the purists will disagree
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
I'm kind of phasing out on the need for wanting all these consoles cool to have but they just become dust build ups
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I here ya there, I have too many myself, and have hard time letting them go, since most of mine I've modded at some point. Anymore I just play Switch on the go, seriesx at home.

I'm designing my own entertainment cabinet for my man cave, to store all my systems, then I'm also designing a power supply/HDMI switcher so I can switch to whichever system I want, and power it also. Already picked up the cabinet board, but tinkering with my drawings before start
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
But yea, I have frogger arcade cabinet that I gutted and put a Pi4 then Pi5 into, but it never gets played much anymore, should sell it. Even when the kids come over, they don't want to play on it, just the xbox. TMNT and Simpson's arcade is still so fun on it, esp w 2 players.
