LOL the commercial shows a guy riding a bicycle outside, when the Vita's portability is being doubted because of its size.

NOTE: I'm not saying the Vita isn't portable; I personally think it's alright. I'm just saying that it's an unwise decision to propagate it's portability when there are so many sony/vita haters criticizing its size.

Actually, it's barely bigger than the PSP3000 side by side, so it's portable.

Exactly, but there were some heated 'discussions' on Vita-related threads about its portability being deteriorated by its size. I believe it's alright as it is.

PSP2000/3000:
71 mm (2.8 in) (h)
169 mm (6.7 in) (w)
19 mm (0.75 in) (d)

PS Vita:
83.55 mm (3.289 in) (h)
182 mm (7.2 in) (w)
18.6 mm (0.73 in) (d)

I guess the width is quite a difference, though.

I believe there's one with a DSi XL, but didn't bother looking.

Despite the fact that it's been seen as portable at E3. It was taken out of people's pockets to demo SFxT and to announce the "Bioshock Vita" title.

Sony is known for weird commercials like this.

All that really tells us is that they had some big pockets. The DSi XL wasn't pocketable and the Vita is bigger than that (held lanscape-style).

You ever go to school or anything like that?

The commercial could be aiming at the high school-college demographic, which carry around backpacks frequently. Hell, I have a PSP Go and I keep it in my backpack and it's probably the most pocketable portable this generation, excluding smartphones and iPods if you include them.

Nah, you would need some ridiculous baggy jeans to fit that into your pocket. The Vita is a mammoth, don't know why you refuse to admit that.

And no, I don't want to carry a bag everywhere I go.

I have no objection about the jeans part, but you could even carry a console in a backpack.

I guess this is coming from a big guy who wears loose clothing. But really, I don't see myself taking this on-the-go in any situation where I wouldn't bring something else. If people carry Kindles, tablets, other "big" electronics, why is the Vita such an issue?

DS Lite: Size: 73.9 millimeters (2.9 inches) tall, 133 millimeters (5.2 inches) broad, 21.5 millimeters (0.85 inches) wide.
PSP Go: 69 × 128 × 16.5 mm (2.7 × 5.0 × 0.65 in) (h × w × d) (EDIT: All this is in inches)

The Go is glorious. Info c/p'd from Wikipedia.

People just want to find any excuse to hate the Vita. I personally can fit a PSP in my pocket while inside of a case, so I doubt I'll have any troubles carrying a Vita in my pocket.

No, I wear loose clothing too. I was just saying that the Vita simply isn't pocketable unless you have some really large pants. Doesn't really affect me that much anyways as I rarely carry my portable gaming systems outside.
