There has been a number of discussion threads regarding the game but they're all about different parts. I decided to make this thread to consolidate all the discussion. Yeah, it's pretty lackluster for an OT right now but I'll spruce it up later. Also don't discuss on how to get the game working on your Wii, that's for the release thread.

Yeah seriously Fishaman, so the demo is not Skyward Sword? lol k.

OT:
I've been playing this game for the past 6 hours and I'm loving it, but has anyone else noticed how the resolution seems even lower than the usual 480p? Maybe it's just me, but this game looks exceptionally... pixelly.
Oh and has anyone else noticed how there seem to be strange 'artifacts' on the screen in certain places? Like when flying for instance, there are these strange lines running through the clouds (they're vague, but noticeable, they remind me of a low quality JPEG)

I want to know how to get this game working on WiiFlow :/ (Yes, i downloaded it, but I will buy it! Just trying to get used to WiiMotion+)

I have NEVER used a WiiMotion+ on my Wii or played a game with it.

I am acquiring one tomorrow, but I have heard of issues where people who play with a motion+ for the first time on Skyward Sword have the game fail to work.

Seeing as i am going to run the game from USB (I will rip my own copy from the original once i get it, but i don't have it now), how do I go about fixing this?

I want to get used to the Motion+ controls as I have heard from some that they are very precise and others that they are basically useless. I'd like more information.

EDIT: I find it noteworthy to supply that I have got MW3 working perfectly on my USB loader, so I assume my cIOS are all updated. (my brother got it as a gift :D

I am loving the art style of this game. Had doubts about it before but it is simply beautiful even with composite cables.

Err, if you read the first post you would know that I specifically said not to discuss how to get the game working on your Wii.
But since I'm a pretty nice guy and stuff, I'll help you anyways.

Since you've never played a legitimate Motion+ game before, you'll have to play the instructional video first (Use alt. dol to load player.dol).

The Motion+ controls are vital to the game and work really well. Really enhance the swordplay.

I have also noticed the low resolution and artifacts/lines here and there but since I am playing this on a 60 inch TV, I can't complain... it's the Wii afterall. Game runs great though. Playing from disc.

I love all the changes and departures from previous Zelda games without destroying the core Zelda formula.

I'm 15 hours into the game and I've seen some really clever level/dungeon design.

I also love the fact that I am actually in need of loads more rupees. Wallet upgrades are awesome!

I'm so very sorry, my eyes were glued to the obsessive screenshots :/ I'm really very sorry. I feel so damned ashamed, because usually I actually do read the first post.

I feel like a dumbass...

Enjoying the game so far...

Left off before heading down to the surface for the first time, will continue playing tomorrow. Tired as hell right now.

Does anyone know how many dungeons are in the game? I'm going to take a guess and say 4, but I'm hoping it's more than that.

Right now I'm at the part where you have to search for Kikwis. I'm loving the game so far.

The music in the game is soooooo catchy!

If there's one thing I wish was better, it's the textures. If I had a better PC, I would probably run the game in Dolphin just so it looks even better.

I feel this fix here...

Famitsu review scores (11/15) – perfect score included
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (Wii) – 10/10/10/10
Batman: Arkham City (PS3/360) – 10/9/9/9
Fab Style (3DS) – 9/9/10/8
7th Dragon 2020 (PSP) – 9/9/9/8
Metal Gear Solid HD Collection (PS3) – 8/9/9/8
Metal Gear Solid HD Collection (360) – 8/9/8/8
Little Battlers eXperience Boost (PSP) – 8/8/8/9
Fab Style (NDS) – 8/8/9/8
Saint Seiya Senki (PS3) – 8/8/8/8
Taiko Drum Master Wii Ultimate Version (Wii) – 8/8/7/8
Machi-ing Maker 4 (PS3/360) – 7/8/7/7
Zelda: Skyward Sword earns the first perfect score from Famitsu in 2011.

Does the controller mess up with some people or is it they don't know how to use it?
Do you think that there is interference with the wiimote for these mess ups?

Were you the one that said this will be the worst Zelda because of the changes?

i thought everybody knew cocktails are like 75% ice
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Yeah but not like this.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the funny thing is cocktails in norway are only allowed to have 1 20ml shot of booze
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    so..... yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
we're used to only having a thimbleful of booze
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Booo.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
same thing if you want whisky on the rocks or something, you can't get a double
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but you could buy as many shots of whisky (or anything else) as you want and ask for a glass of ice and pour them in
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    it's dumb
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Maybe.
  • Veho @ Veho:
There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Usually accidentally overdose of ibuprofen here is from people taking like cold medicine then ibuprofen for a headache and the combination is over what they need
