Code of Princess, a new sidescrolling action game coming to the 3DS from Agashima Entertainment. The code in question here certainly isn’t referring to a dress code.

The game plays similar to Treasure’s Guardian Heroes beat’em up, in that you can have up to four players battling enemies and pulling off combos in multiple planes.

It’s all based on a fantasy world created by former Capcom illustrator Kinu Nishimura — you might have seen her work in the Street Fighter series or 999. She’s serving as the character and world designer on this project.

There’s already a figure for Code of Princess, which was debuted wayyy back in February! It’s somehow even more lewd than the concept art we’ve featured here. I wonder if Agashima was looking for a project to take on, saw this figure, and was like, “We want to delve more into the rich world of this woman with a big sword and no clothes”.

The game looks ok, I may buy this. It looks to be a sidescrolling beat-em up like Senran Kagura.

What absolutely ridiculous character design. It's games like this you know are going to suck because they have to compensate for the suckness by luring in horny 13 year old boys with nekkid girls. I also agree with Alex...it looks like something we'd see on GBA. Oh wait, Guardian Heroes was on GBA. Go figure. Although I have to admit, 3D effect with the separate planes might be pretty neat. We'll probably see something similar in a good game like Paper Mario 3D.

I really want to give this game credit for bringing back Guardian Heroes gameplay. However, seeing as it needed a female character with repulsively large breasts to make any news, I have very small hopes for it.

Also to anyone saying this looks like a GBA game, or that DS games had better visuals, sprites don't make a game look primitive. Go back and play those games, and you'll see that this is at least PS1 quality.

...Which changes absolutely nothing.

Graphically it looks as good as the PSP ports of BlazBlue and, at their worst, the same as SRT OG Saga Endless Frontier.

Hmm, the protagonist's name is Solange, but the dialogue box says アリー (Alie). Either the name was localized from アリー to Solange, or it might just be the name of the character she's talking to in that screenshot. Go figure.
