So, how come the Venezuelan President is being tried in the American Judicial system with American due process even though he has not broken any American laws? Why are American residents being deported without the same courtesy? Also, why was this supposed drug trafficking President abducted when a tried and convicted drug trafficking President gets pardoned? It's all corruption......

so Narco-terrorism is legal now ?

Steal from who? Oil extraction needs infrastructure that maturdo failed to maintain. The people we're getting shit until now.
You think Venezuela will be getting the profits when the oil companies come in and plunder everything? No. The oil companies will do what they always do. Those same oil companies "donated" over a billion dollars to Trump's campaign. That wasn't out of the kindness of their hearts. There here to collect.

With that logic, the US is justified to go into Greenland and start plundering the rare earth metals because Denmark isn't mining them properly. Just with that situation, it becomes more difficult to defend because there is no person like Maduro to overthrow in order to steal from them.

The long and short of it is that this is another war started for oil, neocons will always be the same no matter how much they rebrand. Trump is GWB 2.0, his puppet masters being the same globalist elites that magats once pretended to oppose. Meanwhile, the price of food, housing, and medicine will continue to skyrocket in the US no matter how much the billionaires gorge themselves on this newly-stolen source of profit.

Btw, to the MAGA people that complain every election why foreigners keep invested in the US election and commenting on it instead of minding their own business - this couldn't make it clear why: the US has a grab history of meddling into other countries businesses.

Toppling governments and installing puppet regimes is nothing new. This one was a dictator, sure but the US toppled democracies before and installed bloodthirsty dictators instead before. Also, they may just have replaced the dictator but the grand difference is that now the US will be sucking the countries resources like a leach from now on.

Trump unilaterally deciding he's now Venezuela's king is orders of magnitude more corrupt than that. This can only possibly make things more violent/chaotic, and I don't foresee a majority of Venezuelans accepting the US government's authority over them.

and I seriously doubt Venezuelans want to be ruled over by a demented pedophile any more than we in the US do.

You would likely be very wrong then.

I'd wager that nearly/over half of the whole Latin America would rather be ruled by the US (Trump, Kamala, Biden, whoever) over their local overlords, since "corruption" in the US is child's play next to what happens down here.

The common people do not care about the squabbles of the "ruling class" or "the nobility".
They want to live their lives in peace.

At least with Maduro gone there is now immediate hope for a better tomorrow in Venezuela.
The people there know that the future is uncertain now, but it's at least apparently better than being ruled by a ruthless dictator.
They also know Trump didn't do it for their sake and they don't GAF.

trump unilaterally overthrew a government and kidnapped its leader specifically to seize the country's resources and that is bad
"maduro-"
don't make me tap the fucking sign

In this particular case, context makes a world of a difference.
The people there had NO ACCESS to their own resources and a terrible life.
Now there is some hope for change.

Trump talking constantly about oil being the reason will be ignored.
Trump lying about the fentanyl coming from Venezuela will be ignored.
Trump illegally bombing boats will be ignored.
Trump illegally killing civilians during the strike to get Maduro will be ignored.
Trump threatening to invade other resource rich countries will be ignored.
This literally does not matter to the thing in point (Maduro getting deposed).
We can all be glad for it, while denouncing Trump's BS along the way.
The issue is people focusing on "muh sovereignty" when discussing this, which makes absolute zero sense.

I don't expect Venezuela to finally acquire peace and freedom now, just for a new internal conflict, since his dictatorship must have had support from a lot of people to continue, just like any other.

P.S.: "International Laws" are a joke. Laws only have a purpose if there exists something to enforce them.
They are just pretty idealism written on a sheet of paper otherwise.

We're all on a disguised piracy site FFS.

I've got bad news then, because peace is not what the billionaires have planned for them. More like 18 hour shifts in lithium mines and on oil platforms, all for the purpose of fueling even more wars around the globe. Furthermore, no country's populace is a monolith, I can guarantee there will be some resistance to the US military acting as Venezuela's new police force. To what extent I won't speculate, but it will be there.

The line of succession isn't just gonna roll over either: Defying Trump, Venezuela VP Says 'We Will Never Again Be a Colony of Any Empire'

Of course it makes sense, Trump committed a war crime, you can't just sweep that fact under the rug no matter how much you dislike Maduro.

Exactly. And representatives, like the president, including yours, just represent the vocal/voting majority.
Democracy is flawed by design, even if it's better than explicit oligarchy and similar regimes.
We should have built something better by now.

No one in the oppressed populace of Venezuela cares about those "war crimes" in the "Maduro Extraction Event".

Money is fake power. True power is the ability to destroy, to enforce.

A single bullet can end the life of a billionaire and there's nothing they can do about it.
If they press too hard, the recoil will hurt them, hard.
The rich need the poor to exist, they aren't self sustainable, at least not yet.

Oh, that's for sure. Stability in there is nothing but a pipe dream right now, but even still, it's better than how people were just before the "event".

We can all denounce Trump's crimes (specially the random boat bombings, that was insane) while being very happy with the outcome of this particular "event", "war crime" or not.

P.S.: The strong rule, the weak submit.
That's the only law that effectively exists in our reality.

That's the thing, Maduro being deposed isn't the main matter. Maduro is an excuse to the original intent.

I mentioned this in another post. It's good to get rid of horrible leaders. That is overshadowed entirely if the reason is to take over and steal from the country. If Trump went in and took Maduro and left, good on him. But that's not the point and never was. It was to steal, nothing more. This is merely a test run before he does the same to Greenland. To which, everyone will make excuses for once again.

Ranked choice voting is better than FPTP voting, but the oligarchs hate it and will never allow it to be implemented.

According to your flag, you aren't qualified to speak on behalf of even one Venezuelan, let alone all of them.

Thus the push for robotics to take over blue collar work and AI to take over white collar work. Until then, they plan to work human beings just as hard as robots.

At least forty Venezuelans were killed, several Americans were injured, and there will be much more blood spilled for oil before this is all over. If Trump faces no consequences for it, Greenland or Mexico are likely to be next. Having one warmongering dictator oust another dictator solves nothing in the long run.

seeing people viewing the world as a competition when we're stronger cooperatively makes me sad
we could be so great
Conflicting ideas will always emerge, let's not delude ourselves.
In the end, the opinion of the strongest side will prevail, always.

Ah so you're a bolsonaro fascist fanboy, got it.
Actually, I don't like him at all. He can stay in prison for all I care, even if it was also a sham trial.
I'm a centrist, left-leaning, but I heavily disagree with some leftist positions.
I'm not a fanboy of any person in particular when it comes to politics.

Oh he will DEFINITELY go for other countries, be sure of it. And I also bet no one is gonna do anything to him over what he did now.
However, whether it solves something or nothing at all, is yet to be seen. Long term or not.
Not all dictatorships are the same, and you know that.
And again, Maduro himself was getting ready to do something similar to his neighbor (invading Guyana for oil).
The irony is palpable here.

According to your flag, you aren't qualified to speak on behalf of even one Venezuelan, let alone all of them.
I'm not speaking for any Venezuelan. It's clear as day that the people there are happy about what happened. It's their voice.
I have eyes to see their celebration and ears to hear their cries of joy.

Apparently. Trump only recently pardoned the ex-President of Honduras, who was convicted by the US for 45 years for drug smuggling and possession of machine guns. Which...shit, is that where Trump got the idea?

"They basically said he was a drug dealer because he was the president of the country," Trump said.
irony is dead
