Yuzu Nintendo Switch emulator has been ported to Android

dfs.png

The Yuzu development team has just released their Nintendo Switch emulator for a new platform. Today, Yuzu has been ported to Android, bringing yet another Nintendo Switch emulator to mobile devices. This release follows nearly a month after Skyline ended its development. Yuzu for Android's initial release lacks parity with the desktop version, and it currently does not have LDN multiplayer and other features, as the team wants to focus on optimization first and foremost.

You need Android 11 and some Vulkan extensions in order to run Yuzu. You can grab the emulator from the Google Play Store if you want to try it out. A full blog post on the official Yuzu site also details the development process of the port.

A Big step for emulation...
Nintendont.
I only learned recently about this
But apparentlt, Sega used this expression in one of their own ad. "Because Sega does what Nintendon't"
It was an ad for one of their first console.
And back then, Nintendo was much more appreciated by the public than it is today.
So I wouldn't be surprised to learn that Sega was behind the "Nintendont" expression all this time

Recommended devices are basically what's coming out this year, snapdragon 8 gen 2 but they're also waiting for better drivers for them. So hopefully it all works out.

Nintendo strike in 3...2...1...
They need to do it right this time...
I'm not saying it because I want them to shut down emulators, it's just that them sending a dmca to steam to take down dolphin from their store was kinda dumb imo
Dolphin is used by pirates according to them. Pirates are using illegal copies of their games and all. So, what would prevent the pirates from getting dolphin elsewhere on the internet?

I swear, if they are sending the DMCA to google so they take it off their store, they just deserved to be laughed at :rofl2:

Valve reached out to Nintendo. And Yuzu contains no Nintendo code or keys, there's nothing Ninty can do about it unless Google gives in to their voluntary request.

Hooray! Yay! I can't wait for do more test on Yuzu emulator for any future mobile phone and tablet with Nvidia GPU in year 2024 and after.

Everyone are require to play this Yuzu on any mobile / tablet with Nvidia GPU together that would speed up Yuzu much faster than all other mobile and tablet without Nvidia GPU.

Everyone need to stop looking at Snapdragon processors in their high end phone and tablet. They are so high prices that rip off people money and still not stronger enough!

If anyone have Nvidia Shield TV because this don't have enough faster CPU & GPU clock, 3 GB RAM and slower speed will not work with Yuzu emulator due to outdated. Everyone have to buy MediaTek with Nvidia devices would work much faster than Nvidia Shield TV and other devices.

Time to focus on MediaTek processors with Nvidia GPU are best and more afford than lousy Snapdragon processors. Bang for cheap prices can't be beat! We need Nvidia GPU right now! LOL :rofl2:

MediaTek with Nvidia GPU will able to running Yuzu emulator solid between 30 FPS - 60 FPS with Vulkan.

Nintendo must be feeling the heat not to have their next console almost hacked immediately and then emulated on PC/Android. 😆

Figures.

It probably requires a high-end Android device. I've got an A53 and it can't run GCN games smoothly, but I'm happy it plays DC buttery smooth (kind of prefer it, tbh).
What emu do you recommend for GC? Or DC

Nintendo lost. They just need to accept it.
No, you never accept defeat. It would probably be cheaper to hire a hit man.

Yuzu violates DMCA though. There is no exemption, just because you wanna.

Tried it on my Snapdragon 865 phone and I'm surprised it's working well. I only tried a 2D game though specifically Final Fantasy II Pixel Remaster. I also have a tablet that has a Snapdragon 860 and the difference between it and the 865 are massive. The 860 stutters and lags like crazy.
What a time to be alive.

No, it doesn't. Violating DMCA would mean it contains Nintendo code or keys, and Yuzu does not contain either. Users have to supply their own ROMs and NAND. You're thinking of Dolphin, which is coincidentally still available on Google Play right now.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
