May I pleas ask how do I install a 6GB NSP?

I have Gold Leaf and Awoo.

I can't transfer it to the FAT32 SD card because it's too large.

I can't break it up with NS-USBLOADER, because the split files are not read by Leaf or Awoo.

I can't install Tinfoil. I have tried repeatedly but it keeps giving an error. Either it says CANNOT INSTALL or 0x0104 MEMORY ERROR when I try the NSP or applet versions.

I have tried to install from PC, but neither leaf or awoo can see the USB cable, so the file can't be read.

Tinwoo and NS-USBloader will do perfectly. Awoo should as well. There is no need to split the file beforehand. Just give it to NS-USBloader and let them handle the 6G file directly.

Thanks for your reply. However, there seems to be zero communication between NSUSBLOADER and Tinwoo.

Tinwoo just says NO USB CONNECTION DETECTED.

I may not be using NSUploader right, but I click Awoo, usb, filename, upload, then "upload to NS"

And then nothing happens until it says "failed" under status.

error log:

[ INFO ] Start
[ FAIL ] Can't open NS USB device: ERROR_NOT_SUPPORTED
[ INFO ] End

Edit: I'm using the official Nintendo usb to switch cord.

Did you fix the drivers? I have a thread around here somewhere on that…

Here we go: https://gbatemp.net/threads/guide-to-setting-up-dbi-installer-over-usb.591075/post-9780100

E: This should do it too:

https://github.com/developersu/ns-usbloader#windows

  • Once application opens click on 'Gear' icon.
  • Click 'Download and install drivers'

Hi everybody. For the first time since I have my switch (2017), I am going to try to use cheats on a game. Thing is, I have not the slightest idea on how to do it!! (Always love to play clean, old school style.)

Which program to use? How do I find them and where to put them? Is there a specific folder?

Thanks in advance!!

To manage cheats try Breeze from @TomSwitch.

There’s a discord link on his GitHub.

You can have a look at this to learn the basic how to create cheat with Breeze
Great link!

I hope you’re sorted! Ping back here if not and one of us will help out. Lots of good peeps in here that have been there.

Thanks again for all your help.

I've encountered a new problem...

The USB install has worked, as far as I can tell.

However, ACNH keeps saying "corrupted data found."

Reinstall, same issue.

Doing some research, I understand there could be two problems (amongst others).

1. Firmware issues. Not 100% sure how to check what firmware Atmosphere is running.
2. Sigpatches. I'm reading https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-create-your-own-sigpatches.616288/ and trying to understand what's going on, but the lingo is very new to me.

Are those the likely culprits?

Let’s fix them regardless…just to eliminate them and give you peace of mind.

Post a screenshot here and we can tell you what you’ve got and next steps as needed.

Sigpatches (GBATemp) — get your Sigpatches here!

The link you have above is for diving in and making your own patches from source…just grab the zip in the link above and unzip on your SDCard and you can save the research and development time for a later date.

Hi gbatemp.
Before creating a post on the forum, I pose the question here.
I discovered that I could install mods on games.
I tried out of curiosity for Witcher3 but apparently the PC mods can't install?
Are there any mods specific to the Switch?

thanks peace

There are:

You are correct there are caveats for what can be brought over from PC to Switch. The link above curates the ones that are confirmed to work on Switch.

I had already gone to the new thread before I saw your update, apologies.

No worries. It’s all the same people regardless of where you post.

We try to keep the most commonly repeated troubleshooting here to avoid cluttering up the main threads. Makes it easier to follow.

What are the pics about?

Oh, you asked for a screenshot.

I'm trying to figure out why ACNH won't load.

I'm assuming it's the sigpatches, so I unzipped the sigpatch file from the other thread as per your instructions to the SD card root.

Current version 15.0.1
AMS 1.4.0 I S

You are on (S)ysnand. Assuming that’s by choice or maybe you started before (E)munand became a thing.

Anyway, that’s latest so nothing to do here. Moving on…

How did the Sigpatches go?
Any improvements with your games?

How is your SDCard formatted? Exfat or FAT32?

Is your SDCard old or new?

What brand is your SDCard and where did you buy it (and how much did you pay…approximately.)

I should clarify a few details.

This switch is quite old, and was formatted before I got it (specifically because it was an old device that could be hacked.) So I haven't made any changes regarding sysnand and emunand.

I only hacked it yesterday using the guides here: https://switch.homebrew.guide

The SD card is a 32 gig that's been formatted multiple times to be Fat32. I actually encountered errors when I tried to change it to exfat, but those seem to be gone now since I re-reformatted again and reset it to be a Fat32 with the payloads from https://switch.homebrew.guide. I would say the SD card is maybe 3 years old and has worked fine for years. I've thrown out cards when they show signs of degrading.

The only game I have tried so far is ACNH. It's 6.23 gig nps. I had massive problems trying to get it over TO the device in the first place (as my posting history will show). I tried splitting it, but neither goldleaf or awoo could see the split files.

I tried to use an XCI and that was an even worse failure as nothing seems to recognize xci files. I tried to install tinfoil and that refused to even install at all. So the XCI angle was out.

I eventually got tinwoo and NSUploader to talk, as per your instructions for the drivers. It installed the NPS via USB. I installed it directly to the switch's hard drive. I haven't tried installing it on the card yet. But all it says is CORRUPTED DATA FOUND.

So far sigpatching hasn't done anything. However, all I did was put that folder in my SD card root, so if there was another step, I haven't done it.

Have you tried “fix hybrid gpt” button in Hekate? It’s in the Partitioning page at the top right.

Managed to get the new card up and running. Thank you for the help.

One other question though. I transferred all the data from the old card, which included about 20 games, but the games didn’t load. So I’ve got to download them again. Which is a bit inconvenient.

Is this standard procedure? That when migrating to a new card that you have to redownload the games?
