I don't understand the concept of creating an xdelta patch

With Delta Patcher you can create an .xdelta patch, choosing the appropriate option: it is created by making the difference between the modified rom and the original one.

I see, that brings me to the bigger issue, I couldn't figure out how to extract dialogue from the game, I have been translating the file that was posted on page 15,

I found this, but the extract and compile things don't seem to work.

did you try using xdelta

I had Xdelta but it can only be used to apply patch for an original rom that you want to put the translation patch on. You can't make a patch using delta unless you modified the content of the file first in order to make the patch and save it in xdelta.

I tried to use the files from those but I had no idea how to do it. I guess I am not an expert in editing the content of game file in this. Sorry....now I got a lot of the files from the base translation folder and the program suggested by the user who provided the translation base too

Try using this. I downloaded it myself from Utilities section of romhacking just now. Hope it helps you in editing the content of the DS file. I'm not an expert so I guess you will have to try it on your own
