I find it amazing that almost everyone here is reacting enthousiastic about this project while it's clear that it's nowhere near to anything that is promised. I'm not even sure if it "exists", gameplay wise etc...

No video's, no screens, no clear details = Vaporware.

you think a game like Zelda can be built up for DS like this? By one guy, in a few weeks/months by a 13 year old kid?

Ain't gonna happen. Be prepared for nothing on the 20th.
I dont really know what to think

It shouldnt take much to make something like this in DS GAME MAKER.
Maybe it is possible to make something awesome in a gamemaker program, but i doubt this is. Also the Smash Bros Rumble homebrew for DS doesnt look too pretty either(but people still hype it O.o)

Im hoping for an awesome game. But i wont get too disappointed if its not while im not expecting too much.

waow 2 zelda games coming in in less than a month.... Spirit tracks and this

I didn't quite expect that much hype about this project really. The game isnt reaally long, please remember it's a homebrew, not an official game, but I hope everyone will have much fun with it. I chose the 20th, because I'm leaving that day for a holiday.

Well, as a Zelda pro, I wasn't expecting a lot out of this project, but I think I'll be pleasantly be surprised. This will be one of the few homebrew Zelda games that actually gets completed.

I'm actually really looking forward to the mini-games.

Wouldn't it be a good idea to release it a day or two before you go away? That gives a day to work out any major bugs, or other issues. Just an idea. This should last until Spirit Tracks is released, so it's probably better if it's not too drawn out. I'm really looking forward to this now.

So, this is you're own game, made from the Minish Cap sprites & structure, right?

If so, great, I look forward to this!

If not, how 'bout porting the Minish Cap to DS as an exact remake?

(I've not got Minish Cap on GBA or anything, so it'd be a treat for me!)

Might you consider porting over Minish Cap at any point (if it's possible), I'm sure many'd like to see that!

TBH, there's quite a few GBA gems that'd be nice to see ported over...but MC'd prob'ly high on that list.

Anyway, great little demo I played & I look forward to the full version being released!

The Minish Cap is about the best Zelda game there is. A port would be quite nice.

QUOTE(Skullcollector @ Nov 15 2009, 02:48 AM) Porting Minish Cap to .NDS would be a hard move.. But I'll consider that for the future.

That would be awesome. Not sure if it would be possible, but if so, then worth a try!

Porting the minish cap wouldn't be that hard I suppose, I mean, we have all the resources to do it so... yeah I'll try!

porting it would be impossible as porting requires the source code, i'm pretty sure you didn't break into ninty headquarters ;P
remaking it on the other hand would be do-able...

xD Nah, he totally broke into Ninty HQ just to satisfy us! Maybe he can tell us of he amazing escapades of how he got in with a screwdriver, a plier, his DS, and his trusty sidekick [I'm wanting to say dog, but I'm not really sure if you have a dog...oh if you have a goldfish, that would be better xD].

I think that's what he meant.

Aw Brill'!

Minish cap'd be ace!

It doean't have to have anything

I don't think it'd have to have any extra features either it's fine as is for many I'm sure!

...Maybe the action could happen on the top screen & perhaps a few things on the touch screen like the start menu or HUD, use of X & Y for Start & select/L & R maybe - but then maybe that's a bit too elaborate for a port like this

Y'know I could give you some ideas if you're at all interested - either for your own project or for a potential MC port.

Constructive critiscism though, I don't want to impose of course, your choice. But I'm happy to offer thoughts on your projects & what could improve them (not that I think there'll be problems, I'm already impressed with it, just ideas on how it could be potentially improved if you're up to it!)

Also, I'd like to point out who an MC port'd be great: For those without the Slot 2 Devices for GBA loading & DSi Owners without an 'iplayer'.

Out of curiosity, are you able to port other games potentially?
And also, have you any other interesting homebrew projects?

Again, I'm willing to offer constructive feedback & suggestions of how you may improve them.

Of course, I don't want to force you into doing a whole load of changes if you don't want to, especially if you're going with the whole 'if it ain't broke..' mentality, which is fine, but if you'd like any of my feedback on any projects - just send me a quick PM!

I look forward to this new Zelda & I'll download it as soon as I can (when it's released)!

'Tis going to be released on the 20th (Friday) So it's not that far away, and I choose the 20th because Spirit Tracks will be released soon after and this will be a little fun project.
