I can't get past the first screen on MK2. Which settings do you use?

Cybernator. Metal Warriors (may cause seizures and vomiting though, since it jitters so much), and I would be playing Demon's Crest but you can't get past the first major boss since he stops taking damage after the first hit.

You can use a password feature in that game though right?

I dont have it on my DS ATM, but I seem to remember that...

Anyhow, on topic...

I have been playing EVO, and just had Y's IV freeze on me about 3 hours into it...

But my favorite has to be Super Castlevania. Even with the minor buggy aspects...

Majyuuou works well and is still a fun little game as well.

Earthbound plays almost as good as on the SNES.
Though during battle you have to change BG2 from 1 to 2.
If you want the exact settings PM me, I'd be happy to give them.

Mega Man X is still freezing on bosses. Can some one help?

Also is there a way to force the emu to keep the old ratios? I don't care if I lose part of the screen to blackness. I just want the full screen.

I have a couple of ROMS that are .fig and they work just fine. I have tested just about all of the games mentioned in this thread and this list is pretty accurate. Keep the game testing going!

Figured I would add a few games I have tried that seem to work:

HyperZone - runs well although there are a couple issue with the graphics and sometimes you blow up for no reason, but it runs at full speed with perfect sound and music

Dr. Mario and Tetris - Runs great, although a tad fast perhaps.

Drakken - seems to run great. Maybe a little bit fast but not much. There are some graphical bugs here and there but from what I could tell the game was totally playable.

I will test more games in the coming days to see how many more I can come up with that run.

I'm running .5b and for some reason I can't continue on any of the DK games. I load a state and it works fine but when I choose a level I get a white screen. Just giving the heads up.

Arkanoid: Doh it Again works fine in SNEmulDS. You just have to change the layer priorities so you don't get random tiles blocking your view.

Here's what I found when playing Super Metroid:
QUOTE said:
I played Super Metroid quite a bit during my week-long trip to Wisconsin and found a couple of minor details. For some bosses, you'll need to change the BG layers to 2031 in order to see them, but this sometimes makes the HUD invisible (energy level, missile count, etc). Still playable though. Also, the issue where the background lags for a second appears to be present in "No Vlbank" mode only - setting it to Wait Vblank fixes this, but this often makes it too slow. Otherwise, I'm finding the game to be very playable. Like was previously mentioned, a few of the priorities aren't correct, but I don't find it to be that much of an issue.

Also turn the BG3 Block priority on, as that will make the start menu visible.

are you guys having some problems with the screen?

for me, most of the games i play (some of them are listed here as ones that work well) have compacted screens, meaning the image doesnt fit the screen, and something is usually cut off

anyone else know what im talking about?

It's not "compacted", it just doesn't scale the screen to fit the DS resolution, so part of the image gets cut off. That's intentional, as the author prefers the way unscaled graphics look. While you can't fit the whole screen on the DS, you can change the vertical position using the Yscroll option in the Options menu. There's no way to change horizontal position, as there were only 8 pixels on each side that were cut off.

You can however use the Mode 3 Squish option to squish the Mode 3 layer, which many games use for HUDs and other status displays. For instance, Super Mario World automatically turns this option on using a setting in the snemul.cfg file, which allows you to see the number of lives you have and such without having to change the Yscroll option all the time.
