you dodged a bullet, but maybe next time you wont be so lucky. seriouslly, get bootmii on there as boot2 and take a nand backup if you can, or at the very least preloader.

bootmii adds next to no delay booting your wii if you either set it to autoboot system menu with zero delay, or just remove the files from your sd card until you need them.

also, there is still no solid evidence that this is a deliberate effort by nintendo to try and brick wii's. it could simply be a bad dump or an unintentional glitch.

Hm, are you guys all using an ISO you downloaded? Are you sure the ISO isn't messed with in some way? Before I bought WiiFit Plus, I downloaded an ISO...I could not create a channel from it, though when I got the disc in my hands and dumped it, I could from that image of the game. I think it was scrubbed at least, it seems like that messed up the 'creation' process (pretty sure it was scrubbed, but if not, someone did something pretty weird to it). It worked fine to play the game, but the channel couldn't be created.
My experience is from the retail disc. i.e. using USB loader CFG to rip to my hd, then using the WBFS option in Crap/YAULCT. I've ripped several times just to make sure it wasn't a bad rip, so the problem is either in the method extracted or on the disc itself.

QUOTE(WiiPower @ Oct 17 2009, 11:00 PM) Hmm, now it's interesting of course what happens if the game disc is inserted. Also if it's possible to identify that type of banner to improve the channel creator apps.
Using Neogamma R7 works just fine, game loads and is fully playable. Also via WiiFlow.
I meant what happens in the wii menu if it's able to read the disc. So if you have a retail disc in the drive(or cioscorp) and turn the wii on.
Exact same issue. The menu still bricks with or without the disc in the drive.

Right now, I'm just playing with the retail disc/USBLoader and it works fine, it would just be nice to have the channel installed

I'm on the same boat as you, i have a 4.1U Hardmoded Wii and banner bricked it with the SAME DAM GAME: "A Boy and his BRICK".
could not use the Crap so i used the Yaulct that does the same thing to you, black screen after the Warning, DO not have IOS60 patched so cant boot any wad manager thing.
CAN boot Autobooted Games.
PLEAASE someone could try to make a wad manager ISO for those who do not have a IOS60 Patched on his Wii.
Please Helpmiifrii this Brick.

@ Rurounik99

There is no way you can fix your wii atm.. because you cant boot anything exept games with bootme.
if you have no Patched IOS60 your screwd just like me..

I am going to send my wii to nintendo and its going to cost me 90 euros or they repair it for a lower cost i dunno..

also got Savemiifrii but wont help out.. boot non rescue disc at all!

Lets say PRELOADER is something you SHOULD have!

Soo far AMEN! to that!

I live in Brazil, so i can not send my Wii to Nintendo.
So i'm screwd till someone find a way to boot a Wadmanager or something like that.

There must be some Nintendo partner in your country.

Nop, any type of Autoboot programs except the Games like Zelda, Mario Galaxy, Wiisports.

Well there is hope.. just look @ Super Smash hack or something..
that will forward a sd wad or something not realy know much about it but just look it up...

your wii is Usa or Pal ? if it is Usa you should search about this smash hack..

Everybody's saying that Smash Stack could not Autoboot, it says that i have to insert the Game on Wii... Or it's just for the PAL Wiis...

The problem is that the USA version of the game doesn't autoboot unless you've used Preloader or StartPatch to disable the diagnostic disc check. And you can't do that AFTER you've bricked.

The PAL version of the game will autoboot, but there's no version of Smash Stack that works with it.

ok i installed bootmii as boot2 is there supposed to be a menu when you start your wii cos after pushing A it just goes straight to the wii menu? wheres the bootmii menu?

if you have cIOScorp installed OR a chip you can recover with SmashStack

you just region-change and set the autoboot bit, and you can run it using savemiifrii (the gc controller)

the region can be set in a number of programs, and the autoboot can be set in two programs ive seen, bootme.exe being the easiest.

That actually won't work without disabling the diagnostic disc check like I said before. Other games will indeed autoboot, but SSBB-NTSC won't. I'll bet it's related to how the NTSC version won't work in Dolphin while the PAL one does.

or you're referring to a bad dump, a DVD5 personal dump of mine will autoboot with only the autoboot bit set, no diag disc check removed, did it the other day.
I could double check I guess, but Im feeling lazy.

and as I said, as long as he can try something, might as well try the Fish disc, since he may have the right IOS16 installed.
