SMS2 is a USB device. It's cheap though (runs between $10-$25 USD). I don't really know how to beam one to you through a post (rofl) but sites sell it. Google is your friend for finding sites.

You can still buy the SMS2 at places like Alibaba and Aliexpress.

and the dump games button is there on 3ds carts as the pic shows
someone with one needs to test it - but the tool is not only for save removal / backup
plus it takes ages to dump so we should hear some news in a few hours

yea but come one this early in it's life span it's been partially cracked open now what we need is a flashcart the only reason why i bought a flash cart was to play my dumped 358/2 days

The shipping takes like 10-20 days though, and by that time you might as well spend an extra $8 on that site for an SMS4 because the Neo Team is developing a 3DS tool for it that's 6x faster than the SMS2 software, which will likely be out within more 20 days.

The description is outdated, it says it can backup DS games, but if you have the software I uploaded it can also do 3DS games. Of course we don't have means to run them yet but at least you can safely back them up for later, and backup and restore your own save files.

I have a SMS2, I'll probably try this out.

Only problem with SMS2 is, it's SLOW (it wasn't meant to dump DS/3DS games at first).

Yes, they are working on modifying the 3DS tool for SMS4 so it'll be 6x faster.
The dump worked on my SMS2 but it was so zetta slow I didn't want to finish it, but it was actually dumping stuff from a 3DS cart. Others spent the time finishing the dump and it worked for them.

still no way to playback the dump. but yeah if this really works one could have an archive of ones gaming collection + save files.

I found a way to modify tiny parts of 3DSWare headers. It's not great and it's rudimentary, but it's a start. I posted a picture and some details of it in the 3DS Hacking concepts thread, if anyone is interested.
