Here's what I mean about the iPhone being a business. gPSP on the Psp is free. gPSPhone is $7
1. GBA on iPhone isn't all that good
2. You can still get it for free if you google a bit
1. I know
2. I know, but that's not the point. The point is people are charging for their little homebrew endeavors on the iPhone when it's literally not like that on any other system. I don't like it.

Hm, legal or not, I'm gonna wait till it is cracked and hopefully have a priiloader-type thing that will allow me to block it from updating :3. I'll still buy my games legit (as always), but this auto-update crap isn't flying with me.
We can both agree on that

+1

Personally it would be nice if my supercard worked on the 3DS, but if it doesn't I can always get a DS Lite to continue using it. No biggie

I agree. the hacking community is supposed to be about free exploits, I really dislike how the DS and iPhone scenes are like a business now. Let's hope for an SD card exploit.
What? The iPhone scene is a business? Since when?
As for the DS scene, I like having a flashcard. And fuck all of you who want a free exploit. If you are too greedy to fork out 15$ for an Acekard to use awesome homebrew and play pirated games, then you clearly do not deserve a flashcard. The hacking community is all about unlocking the capabilities of a specific device. It isn't intended to play pirated content. If you want to play free games and don't want to pay the 15-30$ of a flashcard, then you can go fuck yourself.
I bet you shat your pants in rage when softmodding the Wii took over paying for hard mods; now that the 3DS has internal storage, flashcarts are redundant. Pro-tip, none of us mentioned piracy, just you.

Hahaha.

Hacking community has ALWAYS been about piracy. Homebrew and custom firmwares are just byproducts.

If they weren't about piracy, why would they develop the process for dumping ROMs, and then dump all the actual games on day one ?

You know how the demoscene was born ? The first prods were cracktros, attached to pirated games.

No they aren't. 3DS' internal storage will not be used for "installing" retail games. Just for 3DSiWare, Virtual console, and media files.

You act as if all hackers are one person, they each have different intents.

PS3 games can be installed and played off the system by tricking it into thinking they're PSN games. Obviously it's a different beast from the 3DS, but it should still be possible.

Yes but the device needs to be hacked before that happens. The 3DS is notably unreleased and unhacked. The simple fact is a flashcart is likely easier to engineer than a full blown system level hack.

The scene and the hacking community are two rather different things.
Get your facts straight please.

Hacks are going to be done via the cheapest and most convenient route possible. Hardmodding the Wii is easier than engineering a full system hack, yet it was still done.
