Hacking Will modchips eventually able to launch Wad, elf files?

I was wondering, will they eventually be able to boot these files from the SD slot?

Why would you need a modchip to do it, when you can easily softmod your wii with the twilight hack in about five minutes to do it.

Plain and simple? No.

They're called DRIVEchips for a reason...because they mod the DVD drive. However, it's possible to burn an elf loader onto a DVD, then boot the DVD and have it load from the front SD slot.

Actually, maybe more advanced modchips in the future will. Like the Qoob for GCN.

We'd need custom coded firmwares before that though.
