I was wondering if Nintendo will ditch miis on the switch

No, they're there. At least in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Though that's a Wii U port so may have been necessary/easier to leave them in.

Didn't see them in any other games such as 1 2 Switch though.

I hope they will remain. NNID and My Nintendo still use them and these will be implemented on Switch

I did, around the 0:53 mark. pretty sure miis will stay, and like sanic said, might link miitomos with the switch. I sure hope so, though.

Miis were found in the video "Nintendo Switch Presentation 2017 - Software Line-up Video", that was uploaded shortly after the presentation.
