Hello! I was wondering if it is worth it to buy the M3 with the GBA Expansion. I know it lets you use the DS Browser and play gba games but does it also speed up the M3 in any way?

I dont think it will speed up the M3.
However it should speed up some homebrew games.

It will not speed up the M3real's typical functions.
In point of fact it will slightly slow it's boot time down, and it will cut your battery life by 2-3 hours.

If you have no desire to play GBA games, run the internet browser, or use certain homebrew programs, then you're correct, that is the way for you to go.

EDIT: But I will agree with Joe88 on one aspect.
If you don't get it, you'll probably wind up wishing you had.

do you have any backed up proof of this...?

also it will speed up M3 Sakura
as well as homebrew (SNES emu, Quake, Linux?) + allows use of web browser

I dont see why you wouldnt get the gba pack + m3 real
you will regret it if you dont like a few people on here

I have my own observations, and the observations of my former roommate for whom I bought the same rig.
There are also entire threads dedicated to the subject.

Just what sort of "backed up" proof do you desire?

actual tests and not just taking guesses at how long it decreases battery life

it shouldnt decrease battery life after the initial battery charge on the battery pack inside the cart
no more then a regular gba pack

Ive seen that thread and never got a clear answer
some people got an hour and others got 9 hours of life
I seem to get normal amount

the browser is just like a game
you cant ask where to find it or dl it

the ips can be gotten here:
http://www.handheldsources.com/G6DS/browse...tool%20(en).rar

and yes you need to have wi-fi to use it
overall its not that special...

With the GBA expansion, Sakura actually boots up a little faster (a fraction of a second if not). Sakura's media player does not use the gba expansion to store frames (it always has a 21 frame cache). Homebrews like DSLinux love this expansion pack! And most people are nostalgic for gba games\homebrew. I always use it because it doubles as a GBA slot cover. I would recommend you get it.

Note: I think the DS web browser is extremely slow and useless; I don't use it much.
