A little bump for the wiiware update, for the MM10 fans out there.

Edit: Also, I found some errors in my method for checking for duplicates, there are some fixes that will be made to the future VC releases.
I've been very busy lately, so I have a lot of changes planned, but not a lot of time to work on them. At least the dats have been updated recently, eh?

I said in the first post IDs will change. I have always changed them from release to release. This is nothing new. Write your own dat if you don't like it.

In other news, I pushed out updates for WiiWare and VC today. I also started work on my Miscellaneous dat for channels and disc-based DLC.

I've accidentally removed moli's list so if you (or someone else) could repost it I'd be grateful. (I was in the process of adding a spoiler tag).

Sorry.

Hrm ... These are in the dat with the CRCs you mention.
I have:

Lode_Runner_PAL_VC_NES_Wii-SUNSHiNE
AFBA1FA6

Milons_Secret_Castle_PAL_VC_NES_Wii-SUNSHiNE
4548F1E4

...And they add and verify just fine. Update to the latest version?

This is more interesting!

As far as I can see, Excitebike.PAL.VC.Wii-WiiSiON is the version in my database with the CRC, SHA1 and MD5 you say, and it seems to be a good release ...
...and Excitebike.NES.PAL.VC.WII I don't seem to have, and it isn't on abgx or ludibria... Or the first few pre databases I've checked...

What is wrong with the WiiSiON release, again? I'm afraid I don't really understand what you are saying.

What about the Excitebike issue you reported? I am actually missing one of those and can't find any information on that release.

Update (Mar 31): I have updated the WiiWare dat again, and this time I have removed any "filler entries" for missing scene releases. Going forward as a dat that is trying to catalogue the best of each release instead of staying 1:1 with the scene, this makes the most sense. The database entries for these releases still exist, however, and in the future when I have a website they will be search-able, but for now those red entries that didn't exist anyway will be gone from the dat.

I am continuing work on the miscellaneous DLC dat project and I have another big project that might change the way you archive wiiware/vc to be announced in a bit, stay tuned.

Update 2: Updated the VC dat also, again removing any placeholder entries for missing releases. Sorry for the mass renumbering.

(I should clarify: The placeholders that were in the dat were only in the nukes section, for releases that are in pre databases but no one seemed to have; These releases may be re-added as nukes in the future if the releases ever turn up. Nothing of value is lost here.)

Bump for new WiiWare version out today. My roof fell in over Easter, sorry for the bit of the delay.

Currently working on:

1) Choose-your-own format ClrMamePro dat-builder. It will be ~ so cool ~.
2) Updating the VC dat. Within the next week.
3) A "secret" project to change the way you store your WAD files. (You'll see.)

Hi, WiiWare updated again; I fell behind on Virtual Console again (oops) but Finals are over in a week, so I'll be working on it. (I always update WiiWare first because I consider new games to be more important to index than classic releases, sorry if you don't agree!)

As for DLC and ISOs: I actually did start working on a DLC database, but I haven't put a lot of effort into it yet. I suspect I'll get it done this summer when I have a lot of time to work on new projects. As for ISOs, though, I don't have any plans to do anything like that.

Psykos (see my opening post here) has a Wii ISO dat that you might find helpful. I believe the Advanscene admin at one point was starting one, but I think that project went abandoned. I just don't have the space, time or resources to manage a dat like that ... the redump.org guys maintain disc dats too, but they're not a scene dat and they have only verified a very small portion of what is out there.

Hope that helps!

Edit May 20th: Small update for WiiWare again.

Bump for Virtual Console update.

A new(ish) group named NoRePack (NRP) has been feverishly dumping Japanese VC Games. Thus, of the 71 new VC games added since the last update, the bulk of them are Japanese. Enjoy.

Sort of! Not a whole lot, lately. I've been mostly working on back-end stuff lately. I have a few user-facing things I want to publish soon (like the choose-your-own-format clrmamepro dats, that will need a website frontend) so I guess I'll have to get cooking on it sooner or later.

I intend to really focus on the dats this summer, getting a lot of my to-dos out of the way, adding images and just generally making it nicer. Anytime I do anything cool I'll run back and post in this thread, at least.
