Looks like this is going to be rlsd sooner rather than later
Tonight, tomorrow....soon.

I think the wiikey site is going to crumble due to the traffic it gets when the update is out

the config disk will be available from the 28th of march for all you pervert looking for an ass

(me too...lol)
in the meantime grab the update from wiikey.cn

I want config disk now, my currant ones 1.2 and 1.3 just give me an error they used to work but don't any more so bring on 1.4 at the moment I have to rely on freeloader for getting all my games I mean all even the ones on the same region (PAL) working so this would be a welcome comeback.

I also hope when Mario Kart comes out things will work immediately.

WiiKey Update 1.9s

This is a cumulative update for wiikey, fixing a few bugs and adding some new features.

Bugs fixed
-----------

- Issue with original Super Smash Bros Brawl discs not working fixed
- It should now not be possible to render the chip inoperable by using patched config discs

New features
--------------

- DVD update blocker: A new config option to block system updates from DVD. This
prevents the Wii from loading a system update for another region.
- Dev Mode: Remaps drive debug commands from 0xFx to 0x2x

Good job from the WiiKey Team.

Yes. In order to play NTSC Cube games, you'll have to launch it with GCOS, though (no big deal, especially now that most relevant games have had their PAL release)

That is incorrect. The 1.9g wiikey can play ALL gamecube games from ANY region. No need to use GCOS.
Nope thats not right.

Many NTSC and PAL gamecube games dont even boot on my PAL wii.

The latest Wiikey firmware has a built in video mode changer for Gamecube games. You probably haven't enabled it.
Offcourse i have region free turned on.
They just dont boot.
When they are on GCOS they all boot fine.

Hi Superob,

Can you give me an example of a USA gamecube title that does not boot on PAL wii with wiikey 1.9? I have PAL wii and so far all the USA gamecube titles have booted no problems since the 1.9g update. Pre the 1.9 update, there were many USA gamecube titles that did not boot but that is no longer an issue with ALL the titles I have tried recently.

I am curious to test the ones you have found non-booting?

Thanks.

afaik..pal wii have pal gamecubes inside them...

thus pal wii can play ALL GC games because the GC mode
supports all video modes NTSC and PAL

the ntsc wii however doesn't have a GC mode that supports
50hz - unlike the pal version which when running a 50hz game
runs it in PAL - the ntsc GC/Wii runs a PAL game at 50hz but
it tries it in ntsc mode.

there is no NTSC 50 mode

short answer - with GCOS or the wiikey - the Wii NTSC cant
play pal 50hz games whereas the Wii PAL plays ALL GC games
using a combination of ntsc/pal60/pal50 or 480p
