@geekboy1011 about your saves nand gamesaves?
on your wii games on SD or USB?
is the emulation set to gamesaves or FULL?
are you on a wii or wii u?
does the game load or just black screen?
WII ...games on SD something tells me that's going to be the problem as I figured out neek doesn't like that either.
Either Gamesaves or FULL
Wii
Black Screen.

I'm willing to bet it has to do with Nand emulation not liking the games being read from SD and Nand Emulating on SD.

Same for me. In my case everything is on USB. Black screen in some games, while other games are freezing after I press start on the title screen. Only a few seem to work.
Emulation is set to gamesaves.

v5.0.1 released today!

changes:
- compiled with ppc r30 and libogc 1.8.19 to make sure dosbox wii plugin works.
- sourceflow small_covers can now go in a subfolder with the same name as the theme. which makes them change when the theme is changed.
- added notification messages when you delete a cover or banner on manager cover banner menu.
- download cover menu changes: title is now 'Downloads'. removed 'missing' button and changed 'all' to 'download' because there was no difference between all and missing. it always downloads missing covers.
- fixed downloading covers, wiitdb.zip, banners, and cheat files.
- fixed the progress bar and percentage when downloading covers.
- fixed reload cache when using wii, gc, and channels plugins in plugin view.
- fixed plugin view to properly remember last game selected when using wii, gc, and channel plugins.
- fixed default theme name no longer all caps.
- fixed the deault text of channels type setting on pg 3.
- fixed various settings on main config pgs 7 thru 11 to show yes, no , on, off correctly.
- fixed unused parameter warning in sys.c when compiling

@Tetsuo Shima @geekboy1011 i don't know what the problem is with SD card and saves nand. fyi, i am using cIOS d2x v10 beta 52 base 56 and didn't notice any issues. in other words maybe try a different cIOS. or maybe libfat in wiiflow's portlibs needs to be updated.

Always appreciated. Thanks for your continued work on this. Switched from USB Loader GX to WiiFlow Lite as my primary loader and haven't looked back since!

@fledge68 -- OK. So I'm running into a problem where my 2GB SD card is getting filled, because all my covers (stored on my 2TB USB drive) are caching to my SD card (where WiiFlow is booting from)

Is there a way to specify the cache location, or would I have to have WiiFlow boot from USB. For either solution, how do I do that?

Thanks for your assistance!

You have a 2tb sd card and your running out of room? How many fricken games do you have? Sounds like you need to clear something off of your sd card.

@Wiimpathy Yup. That worked. Thank you! And, sorry if I was unclear. I'm running WiiFlow Lite off my 2GB SD card, but have all my ROMs, backups, emuNand, etc is stored on a 2TB USB drive. However, my wiiflow_lite.ini was having all the cache go to the SD card instead of USB. I just copied over all the files, and then changed the folder mapping.

And sorry to be a total pain in the butt, but I've got another question. This one is likely a matter of preference, but is there a definitive list of the current most optimal emulators per console? Presently, I'm running the following:

  • NES: Retroarch-wii 1.7.5 w/ Nestopia core
  • SNES: Retroarch-wii 1.7.5 w/ SNES9x 2010 (FKA SNES9x Next) [Kinda torn between this and the regular SNES9x core.]
  • All Sega consoles (MS,SG-1000,MD/Genesis,GG,CD): GenPlus GX 1.7.5
  • GB/GBC: VBA Gx 2.3.7 [I've heard people recommend the Gambatte retroarch core, but I had major problems w/ compatibility]
  • GBA: Most recent stable mGBA build [I think this is universally heralded as the go-to GBA emulator over all the rest]
  • Neo-Geo, CPS1/CPS2: Retroarch-wii w/ Final Burn Alpha cores [As far as I know, the only real option for this?]
  • TGX16/PC Engine CD: This is one that I am totally lost on. There's too many options -- Hugo GX, WiiEngine, Retroarch cores, Wiimednafen (which I've never used at all)
Not even sure if this is the right place to pose this question, but I'd love some input.

Awesome. Any take on the SNES9x_2010 vs SNES9x core? I haven't done extensive testing, but I imagine 2010/Next has the best compatibility since the regular 9x core requires a bit beefier system to run.

Havent tested enough. Snes9xgx works great if you can compile the latest commits. Havent tested the retroarch snes9x.

hello i am trying to get wiiflowlite to autoboot when the wii is powered on using priiloader, however it crashes and does a bootloop and wont load, it will also crash if you try to run it from the forwarder channel but works fine if launched from the homebrew channel, anyone have any ideas i can try? this is a fresh modded wii

Whenever I try booting this I get these two themeless screens and clicking on any of the options does nothing, I'll boot up on the "no games found on usb" screen then click b to get to the main menu and once I'm there the only thing I can do is click the home button to exit back to my Wii system menu. I pasted the masterpiece wiiflow folder on the root of my SD card and put the new wfl plugins and themes in that folder did I forget to do something? https://imgur.com/a/sbEVtuP

IIRC a priiloader .dol was posted some pages ago on this thread

I have the same problem. the loader is in the sd card and the wii games are on the pendrive (usb1), it always displays the same error. using the configurable usb loader works without problems.
