I'm still working on the options. is it okay if a game is like "Game, The - of adventure.nes" would change to "Game - of adventure, The.nes"?
I also feel like a forgot something. the only options I know to include is the format of the names with "The" and to include rom extension or not. Am I forgetting something?

Damn, glad i went back and checked the last couple pages, cuz i missed this one! Thanks for these man, the few roms i tested worked great! I guess I'll get back on the Odyssey² covers when I finish this ScummVM cover update.. speaking of which, PM me what covers you wanted to see a French version of, and i'll see what i can do. :)

Just used latest 1.4 for Mastershoes/Sion Zaphod's latest SG-1000 set and it worked like a charm, it even recognized strange game names like C_SO!.sg. I think it best to choose the cover folder first and then the roms right? Anyway I had to run it through twice cuz the first time it only output 53 of 66 but I just might not have refreshed properly.
Great job again on this it's making things a breeze :yaywii:

Those covers were 100% sion_zaphod man! He did a great job didn't he? I love the new SG-1000 set.

My question is why....why change the name of the roms at all??? Just make the program change the name of the cover only and all these renaming issues will go away. People rename their roms the way they want, a lot probably have them the way they want now, and now they want to use this simple little program to just rename a cover to match the rom. Can this be a possibliity?

Exactly, better is to agree on a standard naming convention
are you saying you want it to still rename roms, just to what everyone decides is standard? Or are you agreeing with me that its better to not touch a rom name and just rename cover to match existing rom name?

I am saying that whatever is used the most should also be the standard and we should stick to it.
ok, but wouldn't just not touching rom names be much easier than having everyone vote on what way to rename roms, and everyone who loses either not use the program or just live with it. The awesome thing is he could easily make a setting saying do not touch rom name

Not touching default romnames could be problematic because not every rom site uses the same naming convention...although they are close..

PS: US has only two major political parties...europe countries usually have more than two...so you tell me what goes wrong there.. :P

Having a weird problem. Wiiflow on WiiU will not recognize my HDD if it's booted with ios249. I think this may be related to a problem that only I seem to have with games not wanting to boot with anything besides 251 (or whatever ios I install to base 58) Followed the d2x guide to the letter. Alt v10 vwii d2x. 249/56, 250/57, 251/58. I've been begging for help on this since day 1. Can anyone help me?

If it's "The Game - Many Adventures" preferably it would be "Game, The - Many Adventures".

I think a setting to not touch Rom names or, like Tij mentioned not touch rom names at all would be great. We are all different and we all name our covers to something unique sometimes. I know some people use Roman numerals some do not, some like "The" in the front, some do not, some like to keep certain game titles together per series, some do not etc... For the most part I use the standard but there's plenty of names I've changed that I don't want to rename all over again bcuz I used this program. Anyway thanks for your app and taking our suggestions into consideration. I hope we can help you make a better app :)

sometimes roms will be received is a strange way in which it wont have any matches. something like(USA). if people have their rom name so differnt from the cover its pretty much kind of impossible to match them. they need a similarity. Thats how the program works. What I could do is that if somebody wants to change it or not I'll give the option. heres what I'll give, Game, the.nes/ the game.nes for things like (USA) keep it or not. or choose no change at all. Is that good? not everybody wants the same thing.

Nice sounds good to me. Im ready to test it.

here's the options box. I'm now going to work on the main code to respond to this.

You can go to the general settings page 2, there go into the startup option, and select force cios load. That will set wiiflow back to its ios249 usage as you are used to it, its just set to 58 by default because most of the times thats fast enough for most people and its official so no modifications needed, but I guess for you it would be better to use ios249 ;)

Thanks! Will try that out.

Interestingly enough, I have a friends wii that I set up the same (theirs is the newer non gamecube version) and when I plugged my drive into theirs, it was faster. When I plugged their drive into mine, same issue. Scrolling produces grey boxes, on theirs it was loaded fine (except for some of the movies.. if they never opened them it had to still pause to download once). I wonder if there was a usb or processing performance update to the wii on the newer versions?

One last question, is there a performance gain by having just ntfs with .wbfs "roms" vs having a split partition with fat/wfbs? I would have to rip all the games off, or put them back in again and download, not sure which is faster.

wbfs partitions are not recommend for wiiflow, use .wbfs files on ntfs or fat, thats safer cause you can access it much more easly and repair if needed, wbfs partitions are problematic when you get into trouble with it. if you want to keep things on a wbfs partition then why not, wiiflow still supports it. Just if you wanna do a new setup, dont choose wbfs again ;)

you could also easily change the partition with wfbstofat

I think I need to change something with the options. Its going to be kind of weird and difficult to use the option to change the name to of Game,The.
For example, a game called "Game,The - of adventure (USA).nes". Its going to be diffiult to make it "Game - of adventure, The (USA).nes" when there's factors involded like (USA). So is it okay for everyone that the only options for the category of wanting to change the rom name is to have articles in the beginning and removing extra parenthesis? It would look like this

if not, I can change it back
