i know it's just a demo, but I just want to try this
Has anyone tried this through the usb loader? I can't get it to work. I'm using the GUI loader and I've tried all kinds of different settings. I have a PAL wii.
I have PAL too and tried this trough the GUI loader.. no problems here...

As far as I know, this was only an NTSC release... USA only... try to force PAL, and it might work... I've run it though all the loaders I have tried (about 4), and it works in all, then agian, I'm on NTSC-U myself, living in the USA, lol

Has anyone picked this apart to see if there is anything different than the retail release (or hacked it up to break out of the demo areas)?

You can't "hack" out the rest of the game... it only has the parts you can play... there's no hyrule field, no boss battles, nothing else...

the scrubbed size of this game is almost 2 gig less than the full game

I hadn't checked it yet...not all demo games are like that. I have a Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap demo cart here that is exactly the same as the retail release except it only lets you start at certain points...with cheats I was able to go anywhere else in the game (to the point where I could 'rejoin' the storyline...though I couldn't save, of course). That was disappointing actually, I was hoping to find something interesting that was not present in the retail release or perhaps dummied out debug stuff.

It don't work for me too... =(

( I'm using the SD/USB Loader 1.5 by Waninkoko )

[EDIT] Found the solution !!!

Open the ISO file with an hexeditor ( MadEdit for example ), go to 0x0F800450 ( CTRL+SHIFT+G with MadEdit ), replace RDZE with DZDE and save the file.

... Now, it works ! =D

Finally got it to work using that hex editing trick.
The GX loader still won't load it, but using the coverflow by bearface loader, it will work just fine (force ntsc as video option)
i wonder if there are hacks to access other parts of the game. the data files must be there, the game size is way too big to be just those 2 small levels.
