I've had this happen after a power outtage sometimes. Unplug the wii for a few minutes then plug it back in and press power. It should then work.

now it works after resetting the power. i follow this guide http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/w...er.jsp#no_power
1. unplug AC adapter and must remain unplugged at both ends for a full 2 minutes
2. after full 2 minutes, plug to wall AC outlet.
now it works.. so happy

would any1 know what cause this problem? my wii always plug to surge protector and when stop play i just power off.

most likley from being shut off the wrong way since you turn the wii off from the power button not cord but there was probably so power from when the power went out so you had to let it sort its thing out just like what happend to my tv b4 when lighting hit it it had green patches everywhere
