Hardware Wii U Update further than 5.5.3 (USA)

I've been in my friendd house all day playing th out of it and I just entered the eShop by randomness, it's telling us to update, I'm in 5.5.3 and my console is american region, dafuq. It's not even the usual "couldn't download update" that appears in the Download Management in every hacked Wii U even if it's updated. It's on the eShop.

I updated on a spare Wii U that was already hacked, and all the hacks still work.
I've not tried updating THEN hacking yet.


USBHelper still works as well, so it was not an ESHOP security patch either.

Maybe it really was just a stability patch?

Functionality is still there and everything works, but I was forced to re-install all the games. Keep that in mind if you are to update.
