oh and an open store for developers would be nice too
PFFF!

AS IF! Nintendo still believes in their "Seal of Quality", they won't just allow "anyone" to program for their system. As of now, even if you can afford the development hardware you still have to "beg" for it and meet steep conditions to recieve dev units.
apperently that wasn't the case on the wii they gave a kit to any tom dick and harry sw maker :P

Name some WiiWare's or DSiWare's that came from a completely amature studio with no previous experience. I can think only of one, that Diamond Whatever DSiWare that was supposed to be a DS cartridge game but Nintendo rejected it.

I have yet to see how the Wii U tablet controller will perform to let enjoy games at its best, and the connectivity available between a 3DS and Wii U.

Nintendo already admitted the Wii U will be a gimped piece of shit, also who cares what Team Shithole thinks after making the worst Metroid game in the entire series
Well you didn't really follow that thread, did you?

That news article that 1Player posted said that Nintendo admitted that the Wii U would be less powerful than it's competitors.

It sourced the Nintendo Q&A seen here:
http://www.xbitlabs....ce_Console.html

And it used these two quotes from it to support it's point:
There are a variety of different ways to show the unique appeal of software. What’s important here is not to narrow down what we can do. Rather, we have to create the dynamic range of appeals that the consumers can appreciate. We decided to make a proposal of an additional screen into the Wii U controller because developers could think of a variety of different possibilities here and there of using both a big TV screen and a screen in a player’s hand,
We are aiming to make a system which shall not be forced into competing with the others where the contenders can fight only with massive developer resources and long development times as their weapons. Having said that, however, as I mentioned, it is true that, in some software areas, we need to be engaged in the power games. Take The Legend of Zelda franchise, for example, the fans must be looking for the graphic representations that they do not see as cheap at all when the title is released for the Wii U,
Funny... The only thing Iwata-san says about graphics is that they intend to make them great in the upcoming Zelda game. Could it be... that the entire article is a giant load of bullshit? Apparently, xbitlabs interpreted Iwata saying that they have additional functions with which to compete with their competitors as "Wii U has no power, only controller". Read the quotes, decide what Iwata is saying for yourself.

You're an idiot who doesn't check sources. Anton Shilov of xbitlabs is an idiot who manipulates his sources to troll for hits.

Edit: And your attempt to disregard the news piece by calling it's originator "Team Shithole" is textbook argumentum ad hominem. Just saiyan.

I think E3 2011 was enough admission of what Nintendo is aiming for with the Wii U

I think (but I'm no psicologist) that he has a rant because Nintendo didn't create for him the super cool HD powerful graphics 6 processors console at the price of pennies, but I still don't get clear why he bought the Wii in the first place if (on this gen) is the only one not being HD, if you want HD, please, buy HD, if you buy something expecting to have an upgrade someday to make it HD, then you boughted for the wrong reason, so stop being a cheap ars* bast*rd, and buy what you really NEED, but then again.......I'm no psicologist..!!

people im just saying that it'd be nice
the fact is even if nintendo wanted to allow it they need to create a solid system to run it on
otherwise people will just be able to hack the console in debug mode or something (it would definitely increase the amount of possible breaches)
plus theres gonna be shovelware if that happens
so every console company has more than enough reason to not let people do homebrew

It's good to hear that Nintendo's actually LISTENING to the third parties, etc to evolve their hardware, instead of taking the 'on-our-own' methodology like they used to
