I here you!!!. I bought mine when it first came out on Pre-order, ZombiU Premium £320.00, I was hyped up like Pokemon 3DS incoming, what a tit I was!!!, but never mind you learn!. I hope maybe the WiiKeyU also may lead to Homebrew cause the original WiiKey led to some sort of Homebrew way taking off, I think?, I maybe wrong. You have to remember Qtis here in the UK we get ripped off for everything, even for a cheese burger at Mcdonalds so we have to pay £45 - 50 per game in the high street!. Its a bummer I know but even on sites like Amazon.co.uk you don't get much of a discount doing it that way.

While you may feel like being shafted for your prices, never forget the Nordic countries. We have things even worse than you :)

But this is going off topic more than it should.

Nexus: The release exploit works on 4.1.0. It is still compatible with 5.x+ so far, but the method is different.

Alas, I would prefer either Nintendo or the homebrew community to just enable compatibility with games not released in a certain area. Region locking is the worst thing ever released in the console world, regardless of the point of view. I can buy games from any region without a problem, but playing them requires a specific version of the same console I can buy here..

it works on < 4.1.0 too ... i wonder why everyone is writing 4.1.0 as if it would be the only version it is working on.
for example 4.0.3 works too

still i think it sux that it got leaked! It is not finished at all yet but it is a good start though! you should not leak other peoples work...

Actually, although we did have a working exploit on 4.0.0, the specific exploit that was leaked is only for 4.1.0. This is because 4.0.3 and 4.1.0 have slightly different WebKit binaries, so we needed different ROP chains for each.

Hello,

I have 4.1.0E on my Wii U, is the Web Browser already installed on the Wii U? I never downloaded it from the store.
I did format my Wii U a few weeks ago, did this delete the browser?

I don't have an internet connection on my Wii U, if I start the browser I just get the message that I need an internet connection to use it. So, is the browser already installed or not?

The Web Browser is always installed on your Wii U (after the initial Update).. So on 4.1.0 you have that Browser already and there's no need to worry about.
you don't need any internet connection on your wii u - just a network connection for the exploit to run.

right now you can't do that much with it as it is still WIP. If it would not have been leaked it would still not be released because it simply is not finished - so take your time and wait for it to be finished

I did tell people not to update to 5.0 but meh...

Well, it's not the only webkit exploit out there and you can always update ROP addresses to get this one to work.

"This exploit has been partly blocked on the recently released v5.0 firmware by Nintendo, but with little exploring it should be possible to find the new vectors to get in."

Hope maybe ?

Yes it's already been confirmed that the exploit still exists on 5.0.0 and just needs a load of memory remapping. Of course now there's every chance Nintendo will have patched it completely by next update. No idea what the leaker thought they were achieving with this.

It has already been confirmed that while this release doesn't work on 5.0 it can be fixed to work on 5.0. Anything after that may or may not be permanently patched now though.

How many times are people warned (even on "official" *brew.org pages)? They just can't help themselves.
At some point, a door will be closed "permanently" and few if any will expend the effort to go above/below/around/ or through that door(now turned into a wall).
I've seen it repeatly warned over the years: Do NOT update your wii/idevice/3ds/ps3/xbox360(the list can go on and on). People just can NOT help themselves.

I was told numerous fucking times it was safe, by almost everyone here. I could have waited it out on 4.1 if it wasn't explained to me countless times that it was a reasonable path to take.

People were "told numerous fucking times" NOT to update their wii. Did they listen?
People were "told numerous fucking times" NOT to update their 3ds (off of 4.5). Did they listen?
People were "told numerous fucking times" NOT to update their idevice ( or they would lose jailbreak or untether).Did they listen?
etc

Instead they update and then spend time BaM(Bitchin' and Moanin') that they updated. Absolutely no personal responsibility.
No one HAS to update. They choose to update. If you choose to update, you(personally) should be able to undo your update. If you haven't backed up the required chip(s), not anyones fault but your own. Just accept the responsibility and move on.

Well, since 5.0 compatibility was confirmed, since it's just a remapping to get it working, I'm going to completely stop updating at this point so I have a system I can hack. 4.X would have been preferred, but oh well. It'll just take a bit of time to retrofit the code.
