Hello everyone,

With Pokémon Bank closing in February 2027, I wanted to get a shiny Celebi from my Crystal VC save into HOME. I started following the Celebi RNG guide with PokeReader on my New 3DS, but kept missing the targets. Trying to figure out why eventually turned into CelebiHunter, a 3GX plugin for English Crystal VC.

At first I thought my button timing was off, so I started logging what happened after pressing A. The trouble was that DIV kept ticking throughout the GS Ball cutscene, and I couldn't consistently predict the values the RNG would read by the time Celebi was generated. Changing the timing sometimes helped, but the results wouldn't hold up across more attempts. Even the extra logging seemed to affect things.

After spending a lot of time on that, I decided to control those final reads directly. That's how the plugin works now: you play through the shrine event yourself, and it changes the divider values Crystal's RNG reads when generating Celebi, producing the shiny DV spread FAAA. It gets the result by intervening in those reads, rather than by finding a natural shiny frame.

I know some people would rather keep the original hunt, so I also included a fully automatic version. It starts at the title screen, selects Continue, plays through the shrine event, and resets if Celebi isn't shiny. When it finds one, it pauses so you can take over and catch it. This version leaves the normal 1/8192 odds alone and handles the repetitive button presses for you.

Both versions need Luma3DS with Plugin Loader enabled. I've only tested them on my own New 3DS with Luma3DS 13.4, so I'd appreciate hearing how they run on other setups. If something breaks, please open an issue with your console model, Luma version, and what happened.

Thanks to PokeReader and pokemonrng.com. Their work gave me somewhere to start, and CelebiHunter uses parts of PokeReader's code, with credits in the repo. For now it only handles the GS Ball Celebi encounter, but I'd like to try Suicune next once I've had some feedback from other users.
