Hacking Wii themes

I'm not sure. Come to think of it I've never heard of anyone installing a theme on a J wii. So I really don't know what to tell you.

you can just take the system menu wad file of you menu and unpack it and take out the 0000001.app that is the app you need

Why don't you just region change? You can apparently speak english just fine.

Yeah region changing would be the way to go. Almost all themes work with NTSC or PAL Wiis.

JUST TO CONFIRM THE STATEMENT ABOVE THAT IS PERFECTLY ACCURATE

YOU JUST USE NUSDOWNLOADER AND DOWNLOAD THE WAD OF THE NTSC-J SYSTEM MENU FOR YOUR FIRMWARE...THEN UNPACK THE WAD AND RENAME THE 00000001.app file accordingly to your 000000XX.app...


mym are region free however they are also FIRMWARE SPECIFIC

example:

You can use a 4.0 mym on any SYSTEM MENU 000000XX.app file OF THAT FIRMWARE REGARDLESS OF REGION

4.0J
4.0K

ect same goes for 3.2 users ...FIRMWARE SPECIFIC AND REGION FREE

I kinda thought thats how it worked, but I've just never known anybody with a J or K Wii and I didn't want to say "yeah it will it work" and then be wrong, thanks for clearing that up Vetta.

btw, 4.0 mym files often work on 4.1 too as long as the have been made with mymenu 1.3

Awesome to here your updating the first post what with all the 4.2 users coming into the scene this may or may not be a huge assache for us themers LOL.... I know i wont have the chance to do any more themes till prob after the fall and I have a ton to update as well

been trying to update Playground Mugen to V12 with the extra time i have and keep up on the many forums have any of you guys took the leap to 4.2 and tested yet (wonder if a GBATEMP wiki setup is in order so maybe we can help users avoid bricking
to bad there wasnt a way to organize link by FW? Just thinking out loud here but what with the flux of new users coming into the scene with 4.2 there could be alot of "accedental bricks" with all of our collective theme creation throughout the scene if they dont know what FW each theme is for and just say well hey they must be for any FW and universal (of course we know better but the new guy might not anyone know how to organize a wiki might be a lifesaver for both ends of the proverbial stick!?

just wanted to know how to convert the mym file to a csm and then what do i do with the second file

Hey frylock can you please tell what you mean when you mean use the second mym with the first csm because im kind of confused there.

there should be two mym files, if so, then first use the first mym file on the system menu app file, and it will create a x.csm then use the second mym file on the created x.csm and that will create the final csm which you'll need to install...

How would I go about doing this?

I have BANNER BREAK.
System 4.1E - softmode
cIOSCORP_v3.5
homebrew, dvdx, ios 256 (rev 17),
Starpatch, bootMii (boot2) as ios

preloader - does not works

I use all button combination (resset on start or + & - )- does not works

i don't have GC controller or any other devices

how can i repair my Wii?

Reinstalling the system menu should work. Use ModMii or something to get it, and install it with some sort of WAD installing thing.

do you or don't you have bootmii boot2 if you do it is easy, just boot into hbc and reinstall original 4.1 wad. if you don't then you're screwed... then you'll need a savemii and a game with a newer system menu on it...
