Hacking Wii suddenly can't read any discs anymore

Hi,

I softmodded my 4.0 Wii and everything worked great.
Then for the first time after the mod installation I played an original game again (Brawl) and after about an hour the game errors and now my Wii can't read any original or back-up games.

Could this be because of the softmod and if so can I downgrade my Wii again to fix it?
Or is the Wii lens broken?

This has nothing to do with softmodding, and going off what you said, its the lens -- try a good quality lens cleaner.
