Hacking Wii Savegame image and Manual

This worked, packed with u8cous (i dont know if thats 100% necessary or not) but the new version of tplconv did the trick, now the only thing missing is sound!

For what it's worth, I'm nearly done with my completely transformed EarthBound. The translated English tut worked great, but liek other said, it didn't work with u8pack, but it did with u8cous.

I could tell immediately from the seeing the headers in a HEX editor. The one packed with u8cous had only small differences from the original, the one from u8pack looked quite different.


Regardless, I'm thinking about working on an NES wad for Mother/EarthBound 0 soon; if I do and I figure out how to edit everything in there, I will post here about it if nobody else does first.

I dont think so, read the new tutorial and try it that way. im almost sure you wont get any black banners that way

Black screens kept me from making banners for weeks, but those 00000000.app files worked.

Sperion, did you modify the app files to work properly, or are those just ones that happened to work?


And I had been using v0.3, found 0.4 and it worked because it detected the proper palette
I also decided to translate TPLConv 0.4 to English: http://www.sendspace.com/file/w4u207


Oh and for anyone trying to edit the manuals, you may find problems if you unpack emanual.arc with u8pack, or another 3rd party tool. I recommend google'ing for darchD.exe. It's not necessarily legal, but it will extract the archive properly and make manual editing as easy as any HTML project.

You can edit the manual with u8pack but you must make sure you dont have any submaps cous u8pack cant work with it (exampel: Root\img\image.jpg works but Root\img\img2\image.jpg doesnt work

Yeah sure, ive extracted the original 00000000.app and then i removed a part of banner.bin and icon.bin with a hax editor and then used gbalzss. after that i could extract the newly files. then i renamed the new files and resaved them using U8Pack so they would have a new md5. repackt it all back in the 00000000.app and thats all i did with the .app's
