Hi guys! Bought a second hand Wii off eBay for my girlfriend for christmas, I've set it up and it all works ok, but parental controls were set up on it and I cannot remove them. I have tried the Marcansoft website which did not work at all, and do not fancy ringing Nintendo as they will probably be no use at all. Is there anything I can do to remove them? The System Menu is either 4.1 or 4.2, but I'm not entirely sure, the last time it was used was in June for NSMB and looks like it has had no previous hacking done to it.

Any help will be appreciated! Posted in hacking as it may need hacking to remove the controls.

Use an exploit like bannerbomb or smash stack and run Multi-Mod Manager and select see system info, inside there it tells you the pin for parental codes and the secret questions answer, I've done this exact thing before, and you do not have to put any permanent hacks on the system to find it out either (Unless you want to of course)

Nope, you will need the correct date only, the online tool will do the rest, I tested it

If you're the first replier, you don't need to quote the OP... Just uses screen space and SQL space unnecessarily...

Anyway, yeah, check that date and try the marcansoft thing again.

...or if you don't want to call nintendo type in the code here:
http://wii.marcansoft.com/parental.wsgi
It will do the same.

This sounds like the best solution, he have mentioned it about 4-5 messages up.
It seems that no one is listening to him, this is the easiest and most practical solution.

I was checking through the Internet and some people said nintendo didnt help because it was second hand, and I also said I tried the marcansoft site and it didn't work. I'll try again tomorrow when I get a chance to have thorough look at it, I didn't have chance tonight due to the bus times so I should be able to check tomorrow or Sunday!

Off topic: happy new year everyone! And my 250th post yey!

I've sorted it! The wii.marcansoft site did not work for the fourth time of trying so I gave up and hacked it, it's all sorted using multimod manager. Cheers guys!

This is creepy. Back when I was young, children knew more of their parents' computer than they themselves. Nice to learn that this trend isn't changed.

...except that it's not that fun to learn your child has hacked your wii just to get around the parental lock.

(then again, nintendo foresaw that this would happen and prohibited developers to produce porn games - even for adults).
