Hardware Wii Fit

I am wondering if it is possible to get a backup if wii fit and able to play it without the balance board
The only reason is because of the little running feature in wii fit might help because i don't have a treadmill

Like does Wii Fit require the board to just run?

the running activity actually just tells you to run in place off the board. you hold the wiimote in your hand and the swinging makes the it go forward.

but you can also just run in place without the game if that's what you want to do though...
