This is my first post so i will make it good and short.
NTSC/U Wii bought in Arizona
D2A Chipset
Auth. Wiikey, quicksolder.
Wii/3.0U "and no it will not upgrade to V. 3.3U if you click upgrade again"
All backups, Wii and GC work.
Online Play works.
Huge Multi-game (PAL)GC works perfect.
Used WiiUi to build a setup disk for Wiikey. "1.2"
All channels, forcast, news, opera, shop work just fine.
I am keeping WC24 off for the time being just to be safe. I mean hell I have a computer that is way faster than Opera.
I hope this is info that you all will need to suck it up and Update. The clock is Fuckin awesome!!!! lol
The warning from what I see is built into the 3.0 update. If you click yes you want to update it will "connect and say updating." After about 10 sec. a message will pop up and tell you that you already have the most current update which is 3.0.
I have tried 20 times to get it to update and brick but that is not the case... As of this update.
those wiikey disc posted before didnt work for me, it just tell me theres an error and I need to turn off my system.
And let the almight ban hammer hit necronzero, posting warez/virus links. I've been downloading warez software for years. Here's a tip: ANYTHING WITH THE WORD WAREZ IN THE LINK IS GENERALLY A VIRUS.
and yes, I did have to put that in all caps. some people are too retarded to read and that would hopefully catch their eyes.
in short: the exe is a virus.
the topic in short (corrected from my earlier statement): the update doesn't brick anyone, it just stops the use of most if not all config disks for modchips. You can use GCOS to get around it. The only people who have problems are under wierd circumstances. As what I've seen, its about a 1-3% of you getting affected in any sort of 'bad' way. Such as the news channel not working or something, and not being able to load games with openwii. NOTE: 1-3% is an incredibly small percentage. You probably have a higher likelihood of bricking your wii during a modchip installation than when using this update.
For some reason, This feels like a trap. They put the warning and didn't do anything this time but it feels like Nintendo is just taking down names. This almost like the 360 Halo Beta technique. When something good comes around, thats the time to brick every modded Wii. So I'm going to just wait until further notice or the next update to see results. There's nothing in the update that is worth upgrading for...
Plus when these modchips were being advertised didn't they say the chip would be on the DVD Drive making the chip undetectable? JW...
Also, remember, Wiikey says that it does that too. Wiikey also says it has Gamecube audiofix (which it plainly doesn't)
But a way it can easily detect backups is, if modchips only work when you put in the game and turn off after, any game that re-checks the disc while loading menus, etc would find it to be a backup.
Me hopes Nintendo doesn't read that...
