My Wii won't load games off of any USB device unless I'm running an IOS that is based on IOS 58
my current configuration has an install of d2x v10 beta 52 with base 58 on IOS 245 and d2x v10 beta 52 with base 57 on IOS 249
if I try to run USB Loader GX on IOS 249 it will not read any USB devices I plug into my Wii but if I use IOS 245 it does read all my USB devices but won't launch any games unless I also run the games with IOS 245.
WiiFlow and CFG won't even show me contents of my USB devices even if run with IOS 245.

Does anyone here know how to fix this?

I have tried with NTFS and FAT32 Formatted HDDs and flash drives
and yes, I am always using the usb port that is closer to the edge of the wii

External hdds are recommended over usb flash drives, i recommend using one if you have it..
Use fat32 so you can place both Wii & GC on the same drive, otherwise with ntfs you need to create a separate fat32 partition for GC games..

It's a 2.5 hdd with a simple SATA to USB adaptor cable as I don't have a full enclosure for it but it's basically the same thing.

Your syscheck looks fine albeit a bit messy..
It's a 2.5 hdd with a simple SATA to USB adaptor cable as I don't have a full enclosure for it but it's basically the same thing.
Maybe the hdd's not getting enough power from the Wii with that thing. Is the usb cable fixed to the sata cable? You might need one with a y-cable..
You should try with this version of USBLoaderGX, see if it passes the usb initiation screen, and if your games show up on the menu or not.

the hdd is definitely getting enough power as I can also use it on my pc with that same cable and it has never caused me issues there + the same exact things happen to flash drives on my wii.

The version of USB Loader you linked is the same version I already had installed, I still put it on my SD card but same issues persist... USB Loader sees my games but it won't load them unless IOS 245 is used

It's not the same with Wii, some hdds require using a "y" cable to get enough power, and they won't correctly without it.

Look through the settings and change the ios & game ios to 249 etc. Or 245? If that's what it needs..

IOS 249 still doesn't let me play games as my hdd doesn't even begin to load anything.

IOS 245 does launch SOME games but with 10x loading times and and A LOT of crashes.

Check in Priiloader if you have settings set up like it shows in this page.
what kind of settings should I have turned on? I have Priiloader installed and just have 3 options turned on: "Auto-Press A at Health Screen", "Region Free EVERYTHING" and "No-Delete ...."

You need to have the "hacks_hash.ini" file on the root of the sdcard to see more options i think, or your Priiloader is very old..
Ether way you should use ModMii by @XFlak to create a new one.

I think you two didn't read that correctly... I have more options in priiloader but I only have these three turned ON and everything else turned off.

No, you have worded that poorly.. Look at the Priiloader page i linked to above, to see which should be enabled or disabled.

I've read through that page again and have everything that is recommended now turned on. This still doesn't fix my issue.

Then everything is set up correctly software wise, and it must be either the usb port 0 is failing or your hdd's usb adapter (most likely).
And it couldn’t be the hdd if it worked for you before, and it's recognized in WiiBackupmanager.
So you should get an hdd enclosure with a y-cable. There's no other options left..
