Hacking WIERD PROBLEM W -R BUT NOT +R W PIONEER 111D

For some reason, when I go to burn with my Pioneer 111D with Verbatim DVD-R, i get problems

If I put the disc in before I load the iso, it will say "waiting for drive to become ready" and I will have to eject the DVD and reinsert it.

It happens like 90% of the time with -R, but NEVER, out of 100s of burns, with +R

Any ideas?

Its just one of those things, certain writers just plain dont like certain discs, just use +R since you have no issues. wii plays DVD+R's

yea, problem is i just bought 200 DVD-R on sale...

I heard people saying the "clicking" +R make might damage the drive down the road

o well, guess ill hafta suck it up

thought maybe there was a firmware update or something I could do for the 111D

Maybe try updating the firmware or if you could still return the drive exchange it. Don't these come with 1 year warranty? My 106D came with 1 year.. Hmm worst thing that could happen is replacing the drive, they're only like $30 right

if you are using nero to burn the .iso, always have the blank disc in the drive before you start nero. every ver of nero ive tried tends to hang a bit if you dont have the blank in before running nero

You could try cross-flashing your 111D to a 111L. I did, and I love my new 111L

111D>111 use the dangerous bros 111 1.06 flasher then to update use the 1.29

111D>111L use the dangerous bros 8.19 flasher then update it withe 8.26 firmware
