Homebrew why cfw for dsi?

Yeah, but without flipnotehax there is no way for the average user to get a dsi exploit. It's necessary to open the DSi to a wider audience that is required to find someone willing to write a wifi lib. In addition to that the custom firmware might make debugging easier.
To be frank, I would imagine WinterMute and other big names of the DS homebrew libraries were among the ones to get sudokuhax in the 3 hours you could download the good version of Sudoku... and that a decent number of the people actually willing to advance research on the DSi already has one or more DSi mode exploits installed from back then or via hardmod

I'm sure he means without a cfw
Doesn't require a CFW, hardmod at most.

True, here's hoping it gets people interested again.

so, i understand that cfw is always better (psp, 3ds, and wii(kindof) to load backups, homebrew, and plugins. for the dsi, though why? i mean, loading nds games from the sdcard has low compatibility, at least on the 3ds, and i already have a flashcart. im excited for cfw to come to the dsi, its my favorite ds. am i missing something?
For me its Language changing, because i have a jap. DSiLL and want it in English/German.
So i only want it for this reason.
And i want play Four Swords. On the DSiLL.

Yeah. But I read somewhere that the DSi blocks wifi access if not used by the game for DSi enhanced/exclusive stuff (idk if it's true).

It uses the standard per-title permission system, the exact same way physical games don't have nand+sd access (just because nintendo rejected any that did, not because it's impossible, indeed TwlNMenu has nand+sd and slot1 enabled)

Biggest Loser, of all the DSi exploits, is supposed to have wifi enabled (since it requires the homebrew to be loaded from a PC... or so it claims since I never got it to work!)

sorry dudes, can anyone point me to a place where i can find info about dumping the dsi nand?, i mean I already have the dump but i want to know if it is correct, like we do for the 3ds. Thank you in advance!

If you can decrypt it without issues, it's probably a good dump. Or you could dump your NAND multiple times and compare the hashes to see if they are all the same. @dpad_5678 dixit
