I love all the people that are bitching that Devolution won't work with "new Wii's" because they don't read GC disks. Right, let me know when you get your Gamecube controller plugged into it.

I've yet to try DML, DM, or Devolution. I can't tell you the last time I used my Wii for actual gameplay. I never had many games for GC. If I want to play a GC game, I'll either throw in the disk of a game I have, download an ISO and run it in DM, or rip the ones I have and validate them on Devolution.

Or, you know, use Dolphin. Yes, I'd like to see Devolution without AP for the simple fact that it makes everything simpler, and then I can easily do all Wii related things in their best capacity all from the Wii itself.

If tueidj never removes it, or if it is never cracked? Oh well. There's plenty of options out there for pirates. You can't always have your cake and eat it too.

You can weld the GC ports to the newer wiis.

The point is he's contradicting himself by linking to cleanrip to dump, and letting people verify their own disc.
But you can always "lend" a game.

And in next releases you will be able to use classic controller on your wiimote, some 3rd pary classic controllers are shaped as gamecube controllers too. Unfortunately there isn't a way to connect your original gamecube controller to your wiimote yet.

Again, it's not about proving anything to anyone. He just doesn't want his work being related to committing crimes. You may be comfortable with breaking the law, but he doesn't want to be a part of it.

You can easily commit a crime using devolution, that just leaves doing it for the publicity or because he wants to annoy people.
How?
Letting people rent or lend your games. Can be very profitable.
Easy way to get money out of pirating by using his app.
He really is commiting to a whole new market.
It can also be tueidj (or a close friend of him) works in a secondhand game shop. Heck, perhaps even a librarian (I've seen libraries that rend out video games).

@[member='plasma dragon007']: next time, read up on things before you form your opinion, will you? One of the planned features of devolution is classic controller support (it already has emulated memory card support). So those owners would have a decent complaint...

...if wii's with gamecube support were even semi-hard to find. They aren't. And they're barely more expensive than the trimmed down ones (or even cheaper if you go for a secondhand).

The single most useful feature planned for the entire project (gamecube games on new Wiis) and he shit all over it with the words "I'll figure it out later".
Please link me to where tueidj said he'd "figure it out later" in reference to verifying games on Wiis without GC compatibility. My assumption would be he has a plan already as to how that will work, or at least a vague idea. (It seems logical to assume he would have thought about how it would be implemented on those consoles when writing the AP code, to make sure it'll be compatible).

We already went over that. For most people it's a waste of effort.

Exactly. Its as stupid as adding an AP system for a Dead Console.

Wait 65+ years for the copyrights to expire, then you can say it is stupid. He doesn't want to be part of other people committing crimes.
Dude he's making it VERY possible, he's provided all the tools needed.
Did you really think all piracy goes through the internet?
Not a thing he or nintendo can do about it.
Acctually he's provoking this now in a way, as gamecube games or not available in retail anymore.
He did'nt realize that I think.

If you don't want this AP then do something about it instead of crying in this thread. Don't you realize that you might as well talk to a wall?

1. Doing something about this in this site is prohibited. (Have a look at the closed topic)
2. How do you know, something isn't being done elsewhere?

I think this thread is a great place to see how people think about AP protections.

Nope, it's fine the way it is.
Though a bit out of proportion to say the least.
no need to crack his security.
Just expect some rental buisneses to flourish from this.

Yeah, trying to play my legit backup is a crime.

Btw, tuedji should really check his mind, he would have never programmed anything for the wii without the help of the hackers that hacked it.

Oh, you mean Team Twiizers? Who wanted to open up the wii to the world of legitimate homebrew, not ISO loaders and pirated WAD installers?.

Nice, add it please. This will go into the books most annoying app.
Make devolution all about AP, super!
This will really get this app the kudos it deserves.
Having the best AP for last generation Nintendo games! Woot!

Was'nt he part of that? you should really look into that bin file, lol!
Hacking the wii in order to prevent pirating, that's hypocrisy at it's best.
