I'm looking to buy an R4 for a DS Lite. I've been looking into clones of the original R4, because that seems like the cheapest solution and I don't have any need for additional features, but I can't find them anywhere. Also, does anybody know what the R4 SDHC is? I have a spare 4 GB MicroSD card I'd like to use, and it seems I can't use that with the og R4, but I can use it with the R4 SDHC.

I'd also preferably want something that supports Wood R4.

The R4 SDHC is just the same as the original R4, just with SDHC support, but I strongly recommend you not to buy it since it does not have support anymore.
Just buy a R4i Gold, you can get it cheaper than ever nowadays (I think this one is a trusted site: http://www.r4ids.cn/index.htm)

Do you know of any website that ships to the US with Paypal checkout? I don't really want to provide my credit card information to some shady website.

I'd recommend the one from r4ids.cn. It's widelyregarded here as the best flashcart. It uses the R4 Wood Menu which is one of the best flahscart menus out there and has perfect compatibility with games. Modchipsdirect and nds-card ships to the US IIRC.

modchipcentral.com accepts Paypal, but for some reason it's not working right now :/

Edit: My mistake, it does not.

Modchipsdirect does not accept Paypal, and nds-card doesn't accept it in the traditional manner (they want you to transfer money directly to their Paypal account rather than doing a purchase through Paypal).

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Also does it matter whether the R4 SDHC has support anymore or not? I'm only going to be using it on a DS Lite, and the DS lite is never going to get an update ever again.

Also, note: nds-card will take a long time to deliver your R4. From the moment you finish the transaction, be prepared to wait 5-7 weeks.

I'm saying it's better to get a card with better support because some games might not work at all (Pokemon White 2 is an example).

I used this method of payment with nds-card.com since I didn't want to give credit card information to any of the other dodgy looking sites with possibly poor or no encryption and everything went fine.

The order I placed with them right before last Christmas was delivered to US in less than 2 weeks.

Sorry we do not accept paypal any longer.
But we do have Visa/Mastercard, Email money transfer (Canadians only)
Money order, Bank Transfer, Western Union.

I think the R4i SDHC rts flashcart will be a great choice for NDS roms on your NDS lite. Its reaction speed is fast as I can see. Can be used with a microsd card. Got mine from max-console.com, and they sent me a free 8gb memory card also.

I wouldn't really recommend said cart above but if you like it, just don't use the microSD card that comes with it. Chances are, it'll corrupt easily

That item is actually garbage. There's no reason not to get the R4i Gold 3DS from r4ids.cn for whatever reason.

I don't think so. Mine has been working perfectly smoothly till so far. For DS games, it's good choice i think.
